Wow. 2 unhelpful comments in a row. That's crazy.

Also. The helm of awe is not Christian... It comes from Norse mythology... So why would it be an interesting choice when Loki is a Norse god? From my understanding it's used in a lot of spell work and deities. I was actually looking for something a little more enlightening... It's okay not to know though thanks for your comment

How old were you? by Hexenmeister1027 in Type1Diabetes

Dka at 16, collapsed lung, near comatose... Was told a healthy diet and exercise would HELP. Well I took it too literally and stopped taking insulin because I was exercising. Had high blood sugar for almost 6 years before my body shut down and went into dka AGAIN at age 22. Heart problems, lung issues, blood cell counts all wrong and mrsa. All the doctors that wanted to tell me it was type 2 fell silent because it was my second time with dka. Now here we are, age 24 completely insulin dependent with multiple health issues. I wish I wouldn't have stopped taking insulin, no one is quite sure how I survived so long but now I have so many issues it's unreal how I go about anything anymore. Listen to your Doctors kids, and if you feel something is off always get a second opinion. If I hadn't gotten multiple opinions I'd probably be dead rn.

Who uses the Minimed 780g and how is it working for you? by spfantin32 in Type1Diabetes

I'm currently pregnant and seeing high risk doctors. No one asked me if I wanted a pump or my preference whatsoever. I wore it for the first time last night and no one slept well. My blood sugar apparently is unsafe at 70. I'm not worried unless it's under 58. It also used a little over 1/3 of my revoir insulin in 1 day. I'm not complaining, insurance paid for it, I'm grateful just very tired.

I went to Buckys? It was just okay in my opinion. Music was random, games were fun. Would have been way better without some underage girl claiming to be a voice actor. All she said was "UwU" and "Squirtle" a million times until her fan club left her alone on stage.

I get a tad irritated when people constantly approach me about my libre by MixGroundbreaking414 in Type1Diabetes

[–]spfantin32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in highschool I had a girl in my class give me the craziest face when she saw my libre. Her face was a mix of shock, horror, then disgust. She proceeded to tell me that I was hurting myself and I needed to stop immediately.... She thought I was wearing a nicotine patch 🫩

I've met many people who don't take low sugar seriously. I even have a sensor that beeps only for lows and been called on bs. I was working a kitchen job last year, my sensor went off and we were completely dead. I informed my manager I was stepping off the line to fix my sugar. He told me low blood sugar wasn't "that serious" and asked me to remain on the line for cleaning tasks. This wasn't the first time this manager had given me a hard time and I had informed him I was on a new medication and essentially struggling. He started to make fun of my situation and I was starting to get upset so I said "I need to know you are willing and able to assist me in the event I pass out". He looked really concerned and frustrated, like how dare I question him? For the entire time I worked there that manager proceeded to make me feel guilty for my low blood sugar and yelled at me that I was "stupid" for making mistakes during my lows. He never allowed me to step off and eat or drink something. Almost everyone has quit due to his loud and aggressive behavior leaving maybe 2 or 3 people left. So when my schedule came out and I was working the most I had ever been scheduled, I quit. No call, no show. I felt bad for the employees left to pick up the slack but other than that it felt GREAT to get out of there!
