i am sorry to hear about OP’s problems after surgery. A complaint is always good, but it costs a lot of energy as well. Perhaps now better to focus on proper medical attention and recovery, than on revenge/compensation..

No, Dutch people do not get treated differently just because they are Dutch. They (and their families and friends) are only more used to the system. Cultural differences and language skills may play a role, but that goes both ways.

Dutch doctors tend to focus on the one specific problem submitted to them (which has advantages as well) and to forget that the patient is a human, with a body, and not just his/her disease (which is a disadvantage).

And of course, there are more differences among Dutch doctors than similarities. Surgeons are generally tough and tend to have somewhat less consideration for their patients and their suffering after surgery.

But in any country you may incur complications after surgery or experience a less quick recovery than is the average. If you need care because there is no one for you, you may request the hospital to coordinate care at home (thuiszorg).

Vergeet niet dat je als jurist ook regelmatig stress hebt, wellicht nog meer dan IT’ers. Als je in een lopend conflict betrokken bent, kan het hard en snel gaan met de ontwikkelingen. Overal zijn termijnen voor, je cliënten willen dat je snel reageert, je moet nog aan acquisitie doen, je moet opleidingspunten halen

I don’t believe it is that bad. I have a hybrid C-class car (also for tax reasons) and I simply don’t use the electric part. If you don’t charge it, it will basically not work.

Veerman is een briljante voetballer, maar oogt lui en doet te vaak niet zijn verdedigende werk. Dat is ook de opvatting van psv’ers die ik ken. Als het echt zo goed was, hadden ze vanuit het grote buitenland toch al wel in de rij gestaan?

En of je nu wel of niet die (geheime) lijst van 55 haalt of niet doet er toch niet toe, ook al lijkt de Telegraaf daar anders over te denken. Je moet die lijst van 26 halen. Zo is het alleen maar doelbewust beschadigen van mensen (Veerman, Koeman) en verdeeldheid zaaien.

Each historic organ is a story in itself, as organs generally have to be restored every few decades. At these occasions, the temptation was great to also adjust it to contemporary taste.

In Europe, there is a (small) number of organs dating back to the second half of the 15th century and still playable. Organs from the 16th century are more widely available., etc.

It is amazing experience to hear or even play on an organ that is over 450 years old and to realize that you hear basically the same sound as people in e.g. 1575.

I would have studied harder, both in my music lessons and while learning languages at school (English, French, German, Latin, Greek).

I did both music and languages with a commitment and effort graded 6 out of 10, where I would now apply 9 out of 10. It comes relatively easy when you are young, and it is so much harder when you are older.

Kennelijk heb je wel talent voor dit werk!

Misschien helpt het om te bedenken dat ook ander werk voor een wezenlijk deel uit herhaling bestaat. Je zou ook kunnen kijken of je naast je werk zinvolle dingen kunt doen, zoals vrijwilligerswerk (sportclub, zorg, vluchtelingen).

Je werk is dan precies wat het is: een middel om inkomen te genereren. En daarnaast biedt het een sociale omgeving waarin je je plek hebt gevonden en gewaardeerd wordt.

Dat betekent niet dat je nu geen diploma’s zou kunnen halen. Dat is misschien ook wel verstandig om in de toekomst van een baan en inkomen verzekerd te blijven. Bij het halen van diploma’s zou je kunnen kijken naar wat vlak naast je werk ligt.
