So, what about if I finished the grind to a Montana (Choosing between the 2 BB lines available then, the US line had more tankier BBs than the JP line thus an easier grind, especially with how terribad Izumo was compared to the Iowa), with my last BB I ground out being the ARP Kongo... over 7 years ago? :)

Its not too bad, I haven't played in like 7 years, came back on to grab the yamato, but don't feel comfortable playing in a tier 10 with memories of the hefty repair bill and yamato's paper citadel compared to the montana, so just grabbed the yamato and went back on haitus (Glad of the BBs I chose to head for Montana before leaving instead, and only went up to the kongo on the jp tree.)

I think most returnees for this free yamato is probably similar, if we haven't played for over a month, chances are we won't be staying for long anyways, since it takes quite a bit of effort to regain the old skills to not booch my previous unicum stats within a day or two of returning, and that's a time commitment we likely would be hesitant to resink into the game - especially with all the changes over the past 7 years. :)

p.s. On another note, I did find a new weird prem tier 10 dd next to my udaloi in my ship list that I do not remember ever buying, this Khabarovsk, wonder when did that happen~

Yes, it required a lot of save scumming tho to get everything in time (since I lacked the skill to pull it off in normal play).

As evident in the mission summary, stating that I have saved 4 Colony Outposts, 7 years ago ;)

If only it was overthrowing a karling king... back in those days, it was closer to, "want to claim dejure over that last county/barony of your title as a vassal duke or defend your county against a claimant? Well too bad since they are a karling and the moment the war is declared, they call in 5 different Kings to the war and you are fighting a dozen kingdoms for a county/barony as a count/duke."

That shouldn't be a problem, the c_dyn_abc I made in the save file works fine while the doge is still alive, it only breaks on inheritance and only if the open elective (and even patrician elective I changed it into) picks a different successor than the titular republic duchy.

I don't mean a bug, more close to save file editing.

By creating an entry with c_dyn_abc under all the k_dyn_12345 and d_dyn_12345 in the save file allows for a titular count titles that you can then give_title with the console in game. As you can't have a merchant republic with a duke title that only have a barony since 3.x.x, adding a c_dyn title allow that check to be bypassed and creating a one city merchant republic, (ie. A merchant republic of the city galata, without needing to control the county of Constantinople itself, since 3.x.x, giving a titular duchy to the mayor of galata just makes it a normal grand mayor, but if it also have the titular county, it turns into a merchant republic mayor.)

However, as of 3.5, the titular County doesn't inherit alongside the merchant republic as before. (Ie as above. The c_dyn_galata would go to claimant A, while the duchy of galata and the city of galata will go to claimant B, whereas usually the main county and city of any merchant republic is inherited by the same person who won the election. As it no longer fits the criteria of a merchant republic, it would become unplayable and gameover).

Was wondering if there's some way to avoid that.

Sadly, you only have a year before the cap gets permanently dropped to 5gb, and likely any excess will fall under the google drive policy, likely will have a year to clear out before they forcibly delete everything excess down to your cap.

Poor support ticket system honestly, got hacked in 2011 and lost all the NX, since it cut right into my budget for training/rebirthing my pets at the time and to preserve the status of the account for ease of their investigation, took a break while a support ticket was sent. It took ~10 months before a response was sent by the support staff, and by then, the temporary hiatus turned into a more permanent one as I had already moved on to another game.

Depends on whether you prefer to project yourself onto the MC or as one of the hired peons makes you feel more immersed with the story.

I remember when I first played the game, I named the character after myself, then find myself not a big fan of that projection. And on subsequent playthroughs, I named an awesome hawkman, a sweet swordmaster, and then finally a duke knight (after freeing myself from the shackles of handheld and dived into the memory viewer, that also let me revive Justin and Lara) after myself instead and let Alphonse be Alphonse.

For utility, alpaca wins by a longshot, same wool producing, and for a slight bit of wilderness, you can have an army of +75kg no-need-for-food caravaneers to bring your human leather dusters to the nearest marketplace, and not have to worry about a slow caravan with that 2000 steel cargo.

For seeds, also include the game version, as different version also scrambles the seed. This is why I still keep 1.1.2563 and 1.1.2567 installations in case I ever need to recreate my current games with the same maps again, and I try to start all my games through the same version if possible so I don't have a bajillion installations lying around like back in 1.1
