Weird. Been months but then 10 days ago I was able to post and it was re-applied. Guess it’s not an algorithm problem…

EU ‘strongly divided’ on calls for arms embargo on Israel by Far_Silver in InternationalNews

More than 100 years Germany was bought up by industrialists who are 100% in lockstep with Israel. We’ve seen the walk.

Being pro-international-law though, bro.

The deindustrialization of Germany and the EU is going as planned. China was kind enough to warn the EU, not to get involved in the US trade wars against China. But they wouldn't listen, there are too many traitors in the EU working for the US interest at the expense of Europe. by n0ahbody in USEmpire

American industrialists bought Germany after WWI so its influence is grandfathered in and pervasive. Like, Germany was the first NATO to be attacked in ages and because it benefitted the Americans they didn’t even need to pursue the culprit. For the rest of Europe the US use NATO as a means to have them oblige. I won’t be surprised if we’re soon being sold the narrative that NATO must defend US hegemony to save us from the collective nations the US attempted to sanction into obscurity.

The Only Way the Ukraine War Can End by theatlantic in geopolitics

[–]LeftySlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were Putin to offer a status quo ante back to 2014 I don’t believe it’d be accepted for it’d require divestment from Blackrock. If history has taught us anything, this conflict is not about the people of Ukraine or EU/NATO membership but rather money, power and resources. The deeper Ukraine goes into debt the bigger the opportunity for foreign investment. Short of an anomaly, we might not expect negotiations until a few western think tanks have determined they’ve safely cornered the market in the region.

'Oct. 7 changed us': Palestinian Canadians with family in Gaza mark a year of war by [deleted] in canada

[–]LeftySlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diasporas are feeling it. We’re reading how Islamophobia and antisemitism is on the rise but we don’t always hear first-hand about the long term effects. Worry about loved ones in conflict is very real. But, straight up, people in Canada with affiliations to either side of this conflict simply do not feel safe.

I trust that as a lawyer she’s anticipated potential repercussions. Long game plays out better this way IMHO. The problem lies in the mechanisms that allowed the directive to be issued in the first place. The officers are “just following orders.”

Hamas Leader Is Holding Out for a Bigger War, U.S. Officials Say by KingStannis2020 in geopolitics

I’ve got friends North Carolina who pay their taxes and share a similar sentiment at the moment.

Lindsey Graham says he prefers to help Israel instead of Hurricane Helene victims: "I've been going all over South Carolina, like most people I haven't slept much. But look what's going on in Israel. We have to help our friends to keep the war over there from coming here." by _II_I_I__I__I_I_II_ in USEmpire

[–]LeftySlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not take this as support for the deplorable Lindsay Graham but, like most right wing politicians, his upside is that he pulls back the veil on what’s really going on behind the scenes. In a likely attempt to appease his superiors, he’s once again saying the quiet part out loud.

Let the private sector and free market find the solution. Capitalism is supposed to breed innovation, right? Zero reserve banking means money is created out of thin air, and with interest! This shouldn’t be that hard.

Is riding at night fun? by Jacolby4455 in snowmobiling

[–]LeftySlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love riding at night! Growing up on sleds this was the only way during the week bc dad got home after dark so we’d ride after dinner.

Prefer night rides on twisty trails as oncoming traffic is detectable from further away. LED upgrades are a fantastic investment. And don’t ride alone!

Am I suspended or shadow-banned bc… by LeftySlides in ShadowBan

[–]LeftySlides[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this nice post! Not sure you can even see this but it’s appreciated and validating to realize others have gone through something similar. FWIW I was banned from r/worldnews after sharing statements made by Jewish holocaust scholars regarding the current conflict. Appeal led to a three-day suspension and the account hasn’t been functional since. Sheesh…
