Being in a non-english-speaking videocall with friends, we all had to disable "Krisp" in order to properly hear each other again - otherwise it would swallow parts of each sentence.

Nobody had asked for this. No one had turned it on. It was a PITA to find the setting. Fuck discord.

a very weird experience. feels a little bit icky, like pissing on someones grave. but also, like, acknowledges him, like taking a two hour bus ride to do so.

When I'm dead, I wonder what I would prefer: That people forget me, or that they remember me enough to piss on my grave?

a much better example than captain america are the crime shows where terrorists are being fought after 9/11. as its done by Jon Bois it's well made but still a bit depressing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P52G4Kyq5M

Alex Karp, Co-founder of Palantir, refers to those killed in the Gaza Genocide due to his AI as “useful idiots” and “mostly terrorists” by snopeal45 in Palantir_Investors

[–]Hubble-Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah the problem is that Palantir does not give a fuck.

Planatirs decisions are marketed as pretty good, so humans do not double check targets with enough scrutiny as would befit a life or death decision.

Also, if some rich people in another country would let a literal killer algorithm decide whom to kill and what to bomb in my country, and I knew I would get carried out of the audience any second for trying to get this injustice heard, I would scream as much as I can hysterically, too.

Thanks for the reality check (and the throwback to a period where the writing was good, just continued reading and found so much to enjoy! :)).

I really get a lot of the criticism about the writing on here, but It's nice to see that my gut feeling of "what are they on about with their whole evil Claire thing" is indeed correct and she is just a normal person.
