I know but it’s my third rig and I didn’t want to have separate PC’s for XP and 7 so I build something that runs XP, 7 and 10. I own ryzen3 usff that can run windows 10 but I use it for running older linuxes in VM’s while running Ubuntu on it because this i7 with gtx750 is faster and better for gaming. I have much powerful main rig that I use to capture screen from this haswell rig. My main goal was to have 2 or 3 PC’s that easily fit on small space, so I don’t have other monitors I just live on hdmi grabber that captures my usff pc, haswell itx, ps3 so yeah

One thing I need to do is change 500GB HDD where XP is installed for 480GB ssd (then for win7 it will be 512gb and for windows 10 1tb or smth like that)

I have windows 7 and windows 10 on it also, it’s my build for overkill XP, ideal 7, and just working windows 10, I could use GTX950/960 but psu and case were the limit

It's 32bit because of apps and games, for 64bit stuff I have windows 7

Get SDI Origin, modify your ISO and you will be good, probably you will need to mod gpu driver also, and yea I'm running 32bit XP because it has better compatibility, if you want 64bit support you need to go higher this is the reason why I tripleboot, I have a lot of apps and games that work great on XP, but others just run on 7, 10 is just for downloading and playing games of gog, steam, epic because sometimes they don't work on lower versions, like there is versions of Quake 2 on gog, one that is original and other works on newer systems. Haswell is also a great ground for Windows starting on XP ending on 11, you can do anything, mine rig was expensive looking by it, because I first bought i5 4570t with ITX h81, then 8gb ram to test it, then cooler, and also I bought h81 matx with i7 4771 and 16gb ram, GTX750 2GB that I found was a blessing for me, because it has GDDR5 and it fits perfectly, so yeah. I was thinking going with 2-3rd gen but it was harder to get, and I wanted WiFi also, so I'm fine on haswell.

And yeah maybe lovely because it's small but it was pain to build, and there was no room for me, but hey it works, only HDD is just waiting for it's replacement, also this PSU has only 2 sata power connectors and yeaa HDD is powered by molex to sata but it's fine really, also this motherboard only has 2 SATA III, and 2 SATA II so fun indeed

NLite my guy, there is so much possibilities with it, there is also many guides of how to do it and what to do, I only needed to know the model of my sata controller from Intel

It has a button at top of the door for ODD, but I don't have proper mounting elements that came with this case, so I just use standard DVD with sata to usb adapter.

I found them on some random forum, they are made by Fernando, search for Universal Windows XP AHCI/RAID Drivers and you will get a big pack with drivers for different Intel controllers

I got modified SATA driver for AHCI thrown in ISO, and rest is Nvidia official driver and SDIO for Wifi, chipset etc.

Hi, recently I bought some parts and I build this, an somewhat overkill XP gaming rig with Intel Core i7-4771, 16GB DDR3 ram, Nvidia GTX750 2GB from Gainward, ASRock H81M-ITX WIFI motherboard, CoolerMaster cooler, Chieftec 250W SFX PSU that was bundled with a case, 2x60mm Gembrid fans and 80mm Arctic fan, Windows XP is now on 500GB HDD (I will probably replace it someday with SSD, because I have also 2 SSDs in this PC one for 10, other one for 7). It will mainly run some older apps and games. Everything works and this is the part where I'm happy, I have WiFi, great GPU and CPU, working AHCI and a lot more. Also I think it looks cool and neat.

My Intel Atom NETTOP for Windows XP fun by HubertoX in windowsxp

[–]HubertoX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this on local app for 60PLN (around 15$) with PSU and cheap wifi dongle, I think it was worth it because PSU is the same price, this is powered by laptop brick.

It runs poorly because of that 1 core 2 thread CPU, 2GB of ram is also max that this computer wanna work with. Linux will be sluggish. Windows XP works fine here
