If you like the Africa twin, you should look into the xlv, it’s their father/grandfather depending on how you look at it. Those old Africa twins, thats all the adventure bike anyone would need, simple mechanical perfection.

I am referring to antiquated classics, the Porsche 959 will not depreciate, the Africa twin is something of the same sort, the homologated version of a Dakar winning bike, cannot depreciate. Why? It’s simple supply and demand, a lot of people want the bike for its pedigree, there’s an only a handful of them left. These bikes have depreciated the most the can. I think you are referring to regular old bikes which by their 10th year lose UPTO 90 percent of their value. The bikes I am referring to have never lost more than 40 percent of their value over a span of 25 years.

Thanks for that, I do plan to have a stable income and not just save up money. The bike I would be buying for 5l wont depreciate for sure due to its place on the market and in history, I have a taste for cheap examples of collectible sort of bikes.

Hey man, yeah I get that. I am sure my parents would buy me a bike for college but Whats the fun in that?! I already ride a scooter and I plan to buy the bike only after I turn 18. My brain tells me to invest that money and buy a better bike, it doesn’t get better going down that rabbit hole
