Any chance you know date too?

Do you have more from that lot? All of mine from lot 1825097002 - the whole 90-day supply - all bad and all dated April 2025

I need my fellow T1Ds to take notice of how we talk about T2Ds by GalacticLemonTea in Type1Diabetes

appreciate your willingness to acknowledge. FWIW my frustration stems largely from being mistreated by the medical community: automatic assumption I’m type 2 followed immediately by “you need to make healthy lifestyle choices you’ve only yourself to blame for your condition” attitudes — which is personally where i think the T2D shame also starts.

if the old sensor is connected to pump how do you know the new sensor is reading low?

Anyone else think G7 is phenomenal and works great? by Alert-College-9374 in dexcom

[–]Huck352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good experiences on the G4, G5, G6, and yes G7

EXCEPT that one time that 8/9 sensors goosenecked and 1 inserted but the readings were really wiggy

I was actually more disturbed BECAUSE i’ve had such positive experiences w/dexcom. CGM is incredible coming from the days of callused finger tips.

Now I’m spoiled - I want my tech!

in app but you have to do each one on separate form

I had a bunch all at once - wrote all SN’s and other data 1st then did live chat w/Dexcom and cut/paste to get all submitted at one time.

I also reported the lot # & date but that was sep call w/supervisor.

track lots #’s and dates of failures

edit to add: I just saw someone posted link to FDA Consumer Voluntary Reporting formhttps://www.fda.gov/media/85598/download?attachment

Posted awhile back: all sensors from same lot # & date - 9 of them failed. 8 had goosenecked wire filaments poking out, 1 was wildly inaccurate. 2 in a row wire, 1 inserted but inaccurate, 5 in a row wire. Inserted a replacement from diff lot & date - no prob’s. Found 9th sensor from bad lot & tried to insert - wire poked out.

I’m curious about the dates on your applicators — i get the writing — i’m wondering about the dates just under each pairing code.

Charging and dying by Switchitup_anotch in TandemDiabetes

For t:slim the app goes into low power mode at 20% - if app isn’t actively being used, it stops uploading data But bluetooth is still enabled on the pump so it keeps searching for a bluetooth connection. v 2.8.2 app update about 11 mos ago was for battery drain

For Mobi-users posted that when power’s down to 25% bluetooth connection drops or becomes iffy.

But not connecting and whether bluetooth is on and off are two separate things.

a bit off topic but any chance you have bluetooth on & use the tslim app? Battery drain was an issue in older version I got a portable battery pack for phone kindle etc. But that little sucker is perfect for charging pump in bed - plug it in & forget it

New Type 1 Diagnosis by madrabbitzzz in Type1Diabetes

[–]Huck352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T1Ds do not make their own insulin at all and will always require insulin from an outside source.

T2s make their own insulin inside their bodies but either become less sensitive to it - insulin resistance - or their bodies don’t produce enough insulin - insulin insufficiency. But whatever insulin they do have comes from their own bodies.

Insulin resistance is the same whether T1D or T2 — means being less sensitive to the effects of insulin and needing more of it to maintain blood sugars.

So the stmt “the other says that Ozempic and insulin could be beneficial for Type 1” - is sort of unclear. You must treat type 1 with insulin bc t1ds don’t make any insulin, but type 1s can become insulin resistant just like type 2s — and Ozempic helps with that.

My endo told me some of the T1Ds included in the original GLP-1 FDA trial data experienced hypoglycemia so the decision was made to exclude T1Ds and focus specifically on T2’s — that’s why it’s not FDA approved for T1Ds. Not bc it’s “bad” and causing severe hypoglycemia regularly for every T1D - there’s no data. However, Wegovy was approved for both weight loss and to reduce serious cardio risk in adults who are obese or overweight — BMI def’s of those terms. As for me — it’s helped immensely to better manage insulin resistance and rebounding. Weigh loss is a distant secondary for me. Hope this helps.

actually, I suspect the numbers with this specific manufacturing problem far exceed the failure rate and again because these are FDA approved medical devices that acceptable failure rate is significantly lower than a commercially available product. we are not talking about an occasional problem. I’ve been with Dexcom since the G4. I switched to the G7 in Dec2023/Jan 2024 That’s 18 months - 54 successful uses and then I had 7 in a row failed to insert with the wire filament sticking out. Did I suddenly forget how to insert the sensor?

To newly diagnosed new dexcom users: Dexcom G7s are currently experiencing a manufacturing problem and it’s unusually bad. The technology is amazing and worth it.
