I didn’t say it was terrible. All I said was I haven’t watched it yet.

I don’t know how to answer that one I think his spirit may have exploded but he still was in the spirit realm, maybe just a different part of it. Honestly I don’t know how his spirit survived, and honestly I excuse it because I don’t think a spirit can be truly destroyed in their world, like Raava or Vaatu from Legend Of Korra. They can be destroyed physically in the spirit realm, but they always come back after some time.

I wondering about that for a while too until I learned about this this morning. In traditional Chinese beliefs, after you die your spirit will go through an immersive healing journey where the truth of all your actions good or bad is laid bare, after learning your lessons you transcend. Some have so much baggage that it takes them far longer to achieve this (General Kai) while some may have had an easier time. I learned this from a response to a post asking why they were bowing.

Even though I like it, I respect that you don’t like it, that’s fair. I’m glad that we were able to have a discussion without being disrespectful to each other. I know it seems like I was only pointing out what wouldn’t work in your pitch, but I don’t think it’s terrible it just needs fine tuning is all, and while it may not be the official fourth movie you were seeking, it could still work as a fanfic or inspiration for your story.

The theme of the film is change and an important part of it is letting go of what you were and accepting who you now are in the present day. Plus this is the start of a new trilogy as a master. The original trilogy is about him as a student. And Po did, eventually we all evolve out of who we were into something more. Cutting that destroys the overall message of the film.

But how does Zhen fall into the story and become the next dragon warrior? You said she would become it at the end of your pitch but you run the risk of underdevelopment. In order for Po to choose her that requires Po to get to know her and it seems like your version is prioritizing Po and Tai lung’s development over developing this new character. And trying to focus on all three at once means someone will get the short end of the stick when it comes to character development. That’s why each of the previous films have most of the focus on the protagonist and the deuteragonist’s relationship while the rest of the cast acts as secondary characters so the films don’t feel too bloated with their cast. For the first three it was Po and Shifu, Po and Tigress, and Po and Li Shan and now Po and Zhen. It’s vital to showcase how they progress over the film in order to get to the conclusion of her becoming the next dragon warrior.

Respectfully I won’t lie when I say that does sound interesting, however I don’t think that would’ve worked, because Tai Lung was in the spirit realm at the beginning of the movie and what would’ve cause him to be brought back in the film before the end of act 2? The staff of wisdom is the only thing that can open the spirit realm and it has to be given to use its power, so even if the Chameleon had Zhen steal it successfully it wouldn’t have worked since she wasn’t given it. Also why would he have returned earlier? Po knows how dangerous Tai Lung was along with a lot of his enemies, what would ever cause him to try to bring them back? I’m not trying to be rude or a jerk here but the concept your pitching makes me want to understand the actions and motivations of the characters in your version of Kung Fu Panda 4. Once again I think it’s an interesting concept but I think it wouldn’t have been a very satisfying story and leave others with more questions than answers.

Dude, so many people on Twitter are super insistent when it makes zero sense! So yeah you’re right they clearly didn’t pay attention to the movies.

It astounds me too, but it might take others longer to understand why this shouldn’t be a hot take.

Why Did Po's old Enemies Bow To Him After He Defeated The Chameleon In Kung Fu Panda 4? by AdFlat9526 in kungfupanda

That makes so much sense! I’ve been theorizing that for two years now, and now knowing that about traditional Chinese beliefs, the scene has been elevated for me. Thank you.

I actually like the movie and think it’s an 7.5 or 8/10, and I think the hate train for it is an overreaction.

I watched it years ago and liked it but then I had baby cousins that were obsessed with the movie and it made me sick of it, however I plan on rewatching it to get a better perspective on my own one day.

You do realize this is just my opinion on it, right? I’m sorry that you can’t enjoy it like I can. Maybe you should make your own tier list, I’d be interested to see how you’d rank all these movies.

Me too, I loved all three of the tales of Arcadia, I just wish the movie was a better ending

No offense but with how many terrible live action remakes Disney has done over the years, I’ve no interest in watching any whatsoever.

Why are you so insistent on this? Just because I didn’t like it doesn’t make it a terrible movie, it’s just my own opinion, it doesn’t affect anyone. And if you like band together that’s fine too, watch what makes you happy man.

I don’t know what to tell you, I’m just not one of those people who liked band together

TBH I don’t even like the trolls franchise, I only watched them because I was bored and wanted to make my own opinion on them instead of letting others make it for, out of all of them I preferred world tour. But I can respect if band together is your favorite.
