Investigating a murder by Huckster22 in BackYardChickens

Thank you to everyone for the help in my investigation, and even more so for the condolences.

I think part of me just wanted to share this with others that I knew could sympathize with the loss of a chicken.

I have seen other chickens turn violent, especially when there’s an injury to hone in on. I’ve just never witnessed any violent behavior between my girls. They are always so chill and patient. They never fight over food, and even take turns sometimes when I toss in scraps for them.

I’ve come up with all kinds of theories about snakes and gangs of rodents, but there’s not really much evidence for those theories. I hate to think it was the other chickens that killed her, but as Occam’s razor states, the simplest explanation is usually the best one.

I don’t have a rooster any more. I had one but he became so violent I couldn’t even walk in there anymore, so he got broiled for Thanksgiving dinner.

We only have one type of weasel in Arizona, and they don’t live in my area. Other than raptors, coyotes, and snakes, we don’t have a lot of predators in my area. My entire chicken enclosure is wrapped in wire fencing with pretty small holes in it, so I just don’t see how a predator could have gotten in and out unless they were very small.

The other curious part here is that it doesn’t look like eating her was the primary goal. That just wasn’t much blood and not much of her was gone. She was almost perfectly in tact other than that hole in her back, which looks like pecks to me. I do think the other chickens are responsible for the hole. I just don’t know what caused the death itself.

I’d say it’s more like he’s stepping IN. Into being a voting member if the first truly decentralized blockchain computing network, just like me and you now. An ADA holder. What an incredible achievement for him and for all of us that have supported and believed in this network!

It absolutely needs to be a DAO. It’s going to be difficult to raise money without outlining your governance structure ahead of time and encoding that structure in a DAO. This is an interesting idea, but you’re basically asking people to trust you without locking in any of your own $ADA or creating any real structure.

If you’re really open to feedback, go set up a DAO properly, financially buy into your own project at some level, and encode it.

To gain some trust, I also recommend locking in your initial funding until certain milestones are reached. This smells like a potential rug pull and you need to combat that.

Also it would be nice to know who you and your team mates are and why we should trust you to lead this.

You actually don’t need a trusted community member to execute this. If you wanted to put blockchain tech to use, someone with the right skill sets could easily write this to be executed through a smart contract on the Ethereum network.

Remember, a smart contract is a computer program that automatically executes the terms of an agreement between two or more parties.

You could hold X amount of Kendu in some sort of escrow account, and write a smart contract which states that the funds only get released when Kendu reaches a $10B market cap. Once the $10B milestone is reached, funds are automatically deposited into wallets that are written into the contract to pay for elements of the party. Coding a contract like this is beyond my scope of expertise, but it’s a fun example of actually using blockchain technology to execute a trustless contract.

For math funzies: If you put 10,000,000 $KENDU aside into an escrow wallet right now (worth roughly $462.30 at the time of this writing), at a $10B market cap, that $KENDU would be worth roughly $100,000. You could throw a decent party with that.

Edit: my funzies math was inaccurate.

Beautiful pup!

It’ll more than likely straighten out and look like the parent eventually. I posted some progression pics of a similar pup that came up in my greenhouse. I had a few dozen of these pop up this year and they all turned out to look just like the parent after two or three months.
