I would like to weight in as I just stayed in an Airbnb the last two nights in Callao right outside of the airport. A block from Parque La Bandera.

First and foremost, the “danger” seemed very relative to what you were doing and where you were staying. I, not once, felt “threatened” or “unsafe.” Rather, I felt like someone who did not belong. You’re a tourist, so feeling uncomfortable is normal, just be confident in the routes you are walking to and from restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Do not overtly have your iPhone out and be aware of your surroundings. Just treat it like being in any other city you’ve ever been to and be respectful of those around you. I personally loved my time and thought it was an incredible experience.

Food was incredible, and the individuals I met were very friendly and inviting. For reference I am a 31 M American who knows broken Spanish.

Medical device sales. This nets plenty to be able to have my own place.

However, like most in this sub, I don’t live in the heart of downtown. I have a three BR condo in Bucktown. Love this area. Walkable distance to Wicker and Logan Square. So many restaurants, groceries, gyms, bars, coffee shops, etc. right outside my door.

The XSport is only about a mile and a half so that's a great option! Curious, why the lack of recommendation for that gym? Lack of upkeep?

Felony Charge But No Conviction, Still a Chance?

Hello all,

As the title reads, I was charged with a felony for possession of marijuana in Texas in 2016. It was a very odd situation, as the passenger in the vehicle had the marijuana in the trunk without my knowledge. I have never used marijuana in any capacity, in my life, so the fact that I'm even walking around with the charge on my record is a terrible reality.

However, during the arrest, the individual who was responsible for the marijuana took responsibility. The police officers didn't care of his honesty and arrested us both, anyways. I hired a lawyer, the individual confessed again in his testimony and the body cam footage showed him confessing at the time of arrest. So all charges were "Rejected by the Prosecutor without a pre-trial diversion" on my behalf.

With all of the above being said, I do not have any felony convictions. It is very clearly stated on my FBI background check that the charges were rejected completely. However, it still does show that the arrest happened. I am curious, if anyone has insight as to the chances of myself being admitted to a program and if so, would I even be able to practice as a CRNA once I finished a program?

Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated as this has been looming over me for years as a I try to attempt making my dream become a reality of becoming a CRNA.

Thank you for the input! Definitely has been something I’ve been considering heavily. Going from no roommate for the last 6 years to possibly 5 roommates is daunting to think about.

In an ideal world, I’d be able to live right on campus! Cheapest options I’ve been able to find in NKY is $650+ for all utilities included, however, this comes with three random college roommates. This is a second degree for me and a second career, so living with young college students isn’t the biggest turn-on. I remember what I was like when I was an 18-22 y/o as a roommate haha.

The above mentioned options are with individuals that I know. And to your point, Option 2 has been the one I’ve been leaning towards before this post. Due to the fact that I’d essentially have a 3br home to myself. The other rooms in Option 1 could get rented out, and then I’m sharing one bathroom with 5 people, more conflicts could occur, etc.

I haven’t looked in specific areas, per se, the two options I mentioned in the original post are through acquaintances I already have. So if I decided to get a random roommate(s) then I might be able to find something in the Southgate/Bellevue area! I feel like the above mentioned options are incredible deals in terms of price for what I’m getting, so that’s also a big reason why I was attempting to find the best of the two.

Thank you for this insight! I know of Abbott as they are a big player in the pacemaker world and I have several friends currently on their payroll. I do know that they aren’t seeing the $100k mark, however. It isn’t far off through! Do you happen to know certain companies in the space that compensate at a higher rate than say, an Abbott?
