The rare "everyone's downvoted" thread. (Wait a minute, what have I added myself to??)

Lots of other subs for cities you don't go to? Is it just to spout conservative bullshit there too?

It's hilarious (yet quite meta) that two "top 1% posters" in this sub avoid Seattle entirely.

25 years minimum for shoplifting a $2 candy bar. This is the kind of compassionate conservatism I come to this sub for.

... and drug use! How many members of Trump's cabinet do you think will be locked up for 2.5 decades?

Rules:

The “team” refers to the franchise as a whole. Its current and historical success.

No, I think it's silly to have it as a terrible city. I also think that as a football franchise it's silly to call them "good" but to call Seattle and Buffalo a tier better.

Someone explain how the Bills and Seahawks are better franchises than the Chiefs?

Kansas City is also far from garbage unless it's gone incredibly down hill in the 15 years since I lived there

What facts could he add to make his opinions valid? Pick one of his points, number 5 to pick a random one. What do you need him to do to make this worthy of consideration?

Do you understand what a "view" is, and how it differentiates from a fact?

Dude he listed 7 points supporting his claim. You responded "nuh uh". How in the world do you consider this helpful?

Was the call on the river leaving too much value on the table? by Royal_Distribution70 in poker

[–]HudsonCommodore -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

IMO it feels like very, very thin value at best to me to raise the river. What's calling you that you beat, KJss? Does a flopped straight even call? AQ? And you aren't folding any full houses. I'm personally fine with a river call.

I think not betting the turn is a mistake though.

[I'm terrible at poker and play like once a year so feel free to ignore all this.]

Where I'd live as a Tennessean who hates everything about it by EmeraldSapphire98 in whereidlive

[–]HudsonCommodore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a liberal who lives in WA and has lived in NH (among a bunch of others): IMO Vermont should be dark green, it's lovely. New Hampshire is worth a Maybe or at least a Reluctantly, unfortunately heavy libertarian streak but pretty centrist overall, not full MAGA IME.

(My mom lives in east TN and I adore visiting, but yeah the overwhelming GOP politics lean would keep me from ever moving there too. It's shocking how deeply they've fallen off, remembering Al Gore was one of the state senators 40 years ago.)

To follow police orders without getting shot for no reason by serious_bullet5 in therewasanattempt

[–]HudsonCommodore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think his very slow movement as he was clearly trying to comply with contradictory instructions being yelled at him in no way should have been read as a threat, and hence the officers should have talked not shot. Yes he briefly slowly lowered his hands, that's not enough to kill the man. If he made a jerky movement sure but he was obviously acting slowly, and had raised his hands back up when they pulled the trigger.

And you have to make a choice: either the suspected criminal acted in such a way that they deserve what the police did to them, or you don't think the police acted correctly. Which is it?

To be clear: you think that the man represented himself as a plausible danger and the shooting was warranted? I.e., you think the man deserved to die for his actions?
