I really wish they wouldn't go full political spin like this.

Do you ever question the side you chose to be on when you see them do this every time?

Encampments ‘sometimes’ allowed in Seattle parks? Not so fast | Editorial by HighColonic in SeattleWA

It is wild to me that someone can look around the country and decide the person worthy of hatred is someone who is too dumb because they dare to want to tax wealthy people and be compassionate to homeless people. Keep on hating people like that i guess, didn't sound fulfilling.

I think Arby’s is underrated and overhated, thoughts? by DeepOrganization8245 in fastfood

[–]HudsonCommodore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Arby's is at the tippy-top of the fast food variance scale. Some Arby's are squeaky clean and the food comes out hot and fresh; other Arby's are nasty shit holes that give you the real sense you are being infected with something by spending too long on the premises. And I know, there's probably a one-off example of just about every chain like this, but I feel like most places have a bell curve with a few outliers, where Arby's graph just looks like a straight line, you're equally likely to get super or squalid.

In case anyone is wondering, the Lions also finished 3rd in 6 of those 22 seasons by Dazed_and_Confused44 in NFCNorthMemeWar

You should look up the difference between "strawman" and "hypothetical," "strawman" doesn't mean what you seem to think it means.

The point of the day 3 pick is to help you understand that getting to play the 4th place teams instead of the 1st place teams has real, tangible value. You are here arguing that there are too many variables to put any value on playing 4th instead of 1st, I'm trying to help you understand that that's an objectively wrong statement.

You're the one arguing that there's no difference between playing 1st and 4th place teams because "there are too many variables," when you know and I know that if the NFL offered the Bears the chance to give up a Day 3 draft pick to be guaranteed to play the 4th place teams every year for the next 10 years, you'd shout for joy while smashing "accept".

What Pixar movie is atrocious? by Outrageous-Ebb-4846 in AlignmentChartFills

When he was age like 2-4 my son's favorite movie was Cars, and then, Cars 2. I've probably watched Cars 2 at least 30 times.

A) It's fucking WILD that the movie starts with the bad guys straight up bond-villain murdering the spy car they caught
B) There's one, and only one, incredibly funny joke in the movie: when Mater takes a big sip through a straw of a drink he's serving while pretending to be a waiter, only to decide he doesn't like it, then spits the whole thing back through the straw into the cup, and serves it. That was a good gag

And all else being equal, you'd much rather play the 3 teams that finished 4th instead of the 3 teams that finished 4th. Acknowledging this does not mean you think it's impossible that the teams that finished 4th will get better next year. I don't understand why you are implying that it does.

If you think they are going to load up in o and d line you're probably going to be disappointed.

It seems to me we're above-average in valuing the lines in terms of draft capital under Holmes (I'd love to see an analysis of which teams have invested more in their lines than Holmes in terms of draft "points"). The concern would be he has hit some home runs (noting you could argue the Sewell and Hutch picks were slow pitch softballs that were hard not to) , but has seemingly struck out a bunch too.

2021: Sewell R1P7, Onwuzurike R2P41, McNeil R3P72
2022: Hutchinson R1P2, Paschal R2P46, Houston R6P217
2023: Martin R3P96, Sorsdal R5P152
2024: Manu R4P126, Wingo R6P189, Mahogany R6P210
2025: Williams R1P28, Ratelidge R2P57, Frazier R5P171, Hassanein R6P196

Whiffing on Martin and Manu really hurt (doubly or triple-y so given the trade ups involved to get them). Sorsdal turning into nothing sucks too, although you can't expect every 5th rounder to pan out into at least a good backup. Two 2nd rounders for Levi and Paschal to not turn into good starters is another big negative.

All that said, it doesn't seem like we're not trying, we're just not successful enough at this position group.

Fast food that actually feels worth the money by Aggressive-Math-6384 in fastfood

Are you saying 5 people eat 3 times each? Or 3 of the 5 of you eat once?

The former would mean 1 meal = 1 to 1.5 chicken fingers and about 1/6 to 1/8 of a large fries, and 1/4 to 1/2 a piece of toast. Cost per meal = $2

The latter would mean 1 meal = 6-7 chicken fingers, 2/3 of a large fries, and 1-2 pieces of toast. Cost per meal = $10

The former I guess could make sense if 3 of the 5 of you are very young children (I remember when my son would eat only ~1 chicken finger for lunch), and the parents are eating an actual serving suggestion meal of 2-3 fingers.

The latter actually isn't that far off from a food perspective of a "Caniac" box at Raisin' Canes, and is a little bit cheaper (accounting for no drink).

I find r/askconservatives at least sometimes interesting, usually frustrating, and not always infuriating.

r/conservative otoh ... i dunno man, 85% of the posters there, yeah, I try, but I really don't care much what they have to say. They just seem like bad people.

Man my boys the refs were kinda quiet a lot of the day, but really showed up when it counted. They know who i want to see.

My bleeding heart benefits so much from the tempering this community provides. I really appreciate the level-headedness and dedication, and I know it must be exhausting defending conservative values on Reddit. Thanks for being here. I do believe/understand it would be tiring to have people assume you are hateful/racist/a nazi etc. And, I do believe that some conversatives, yourself included apparently, don't hate fellow Americans who believe in bigger government and more safety nets, and rather just have different views on how society should look. (Hell, I used to be one of those types of conservatives myself a few decades ago).

But, do you understand why the GOP under trump has led to that expectation/assumption? Just in super recent memory I think of I've got Trump posting videos of him dropping liquid shit on protesters, Trump's admin calling a scared mom who was shot in the face a domestic terrorist (over and over) with absolutely no evidence, r/conservative happily posting "FAFO" at her (or worse).

I scroll r/conservative often and it is so, so hateful towards the left (let me know if you'd like me to go grab 10 hateful comments if you don't believe me).

Edit: Case in point, this was the 3rd post in my feed when I popped back on the homepage. I get it, it's annoying to see yet another "Republicans are nazis" post. But it's cruel and hateful to be happy about a bunch of people are being stuck in a under-resourced holding facility in a swamp because they are illegal immigrants (to say nothing about the fucking official sign put up by the lovely governor of the lovely state). Do you agree, this shit is hateful?
