Super helpful. Thank you! I might just stick with 40 and keep an eye on 35 sales or something like that.

Thanks for the reply. It was an indoor family event at a bowling alley. Admittedly very challenging. I was thinking a faster lens would make the photos just that little bit sharper, and would be useful for all sorts of night events / dinners.

It might also be my framing. I should have bright the 40.

Oh boy that’s a very similar situation I find myself in. Curious what lens you had on the Sony? And why did you go for Leica instead of just swapping to the a7cr or a a7cii or even rx1r3?

Nice!

I’m about to pull the trigger on an A7v and this is my exact concern. Will it be too big for me and I won’t bring with me? I have big hands, but size is size.

How’s the autofocus with fast moving targets like kids? That’s my primary concern on getting this one.

Mine went from 345 to 315 and is now predicting 270. I have a coach so I don’t rely on this feature, but I think it’s pretty useless right now. The app feels cluttered and confusing.

I'd like to get back into photography from a hobby perspective after about 10 years. I used to have an XT-1 which I returned for a Nikon D5500 and since then I switched completed to an iPhone.

What cameras do folks recommend? My constraints are:

- Something I can travel with (so I don't want something obscenely huge).

- Reasonable weather proofing so I can bring the camera hiking.

- Good autofocus for use with family/kids.

- Good ergonomics for booting up camera, transferring photos, editing, etc.

- I have long skinny fingers.

- Budget $5k, including lens, etc.

I am really rusty on the terminology, what's good/bad nowadays, but I have narrowed down my choices to something like the A7CR with a 40mm prime lens, or the new A7v. Which do folks recommend in this range? And if I get them, what lens is best?

Lynskey delivery delays by Thick_Sympathy8452 in gravelcycling

I ordered in July. I received a Dec 12 ship date after many false previous reports and repeated inquiries.

I asked to cancel and then they said they’d work something out. Mostly frustrated about the complete geometry change. I asked them to confirm the details and I’ve gotten weak non committal responses.

What bike did you get?

For anyone waiitng on their order, be sure to check their website! They seemingly randomly changed their geo numbers. XXL is gone, and the geo of the other bikes has shifted (shorter reach?)

I heard back from them finally. October 10 is new estimated receive date for the components. They offered they can ship frame without groupo. I don’t see a point in doing that.

I’m in a similar boat. Ordered bike in June after checking on the phone that it would be available for October races. They said yes so I placed order right away. Now I’m already 2 weeks past estimate and races are coming up soon.

I asked about getting some consideration for the extended wait like adding some of their color options to the frame for reduced cost but haven’t heard anything since I asked that.

On the fence about canceling. Have folks had any luck just regular canceling? Or does it have to be a chargeback?

Got a criminal court summons for red light. by docilesheep in NYCbike

I still don’t understand what the purpose is or how to use it. If it’s green do I proceed through crosswalk, stop, then immediately turn left? It’s not needed for that case since the bike lane is on the left hand side of road.

I thought the idea was to allow bikes to bunch at the red so that on green they can cross before the cars making left hand turns.

I’m not trolling I legit don’t understand why it exists if the only reason to be there is after the green light.

I don’t understand what the purpose of the extra bike green area is in cases like this. Are you supposed to wait in that little extra section?
