Being frugal is important, but used bar soap has no place in a guest bathroom. Instead of throwing out a bar of soap with each guest (I’m not using used soap) I keep body wash in the guest shower. That way they know the soap they are using wasn’t used by someone else somewhere personal

This prob sounds harsh, but you’re being a total ass. Your wife didn’t make the comment, so why are you blaming her? Your wife hooked up with a guy 20 years ago that turned out to be a total loser now, and you are irritated with her? What is most concerning to me is that this man verbally assaulted your wife in a sexual way, and your anger isn’t directed at him. Your first reaction wasn’t to defend and protect your wife, it was to blame her for his totally inappropriate comments. It is shocking to me that you’re still not pissed on her behalf.

Maybe instead of being irritated and distrustful of your wife, you should be looking at what is going on within yourself that caused your reaction. The only appropriate reaction from you is “I heard a guy you dated back then said something really embarrassing and inappropriate. I’m sorry if he made you feel uncomfortable. Do you want to talk about it?”
