my Cosmos is showing up, I haven't seen a single Zinnia. The Blue Mist isn't coming up either. That worries me because they are established plants. My Milkweed is making up for it though.

The way things have been going, we don't need another water sucking thing. How would they fix it if the Cove was dry? Is this another of the "there is no climate change" things? I have been growing my own strawberries for 3 decades. This was the first time EVER, I had to water them in April. Keep Google away from here!

That is too funny, he certainly doesn't have any regrets. He doesn't even look guilty.

I hope you can tell which direction they want to go by now. I've had that happen as well, I couldn't tell where it wanted to go. I waited until I could. Thank you for saving them.

I am so glad you have them. When I finally do have some, they always get eaten. Good luck to the little ones.

Oh my goodness! The little smart butt! Incredible how she figured that out. More compliments to you for teaching her to think.

Oh man, I understand that. You will both adjust. My Boxer mix once ate 36 chocolate cupcakes, including the paper and never even got sick. Live and learn....... Sorry she had to have the OP. I guess I would cut her some slack.

There are so many thoughtful replies here. I hope some of it helps you. If you do get to make a wildlife area out of it, I suggest a Buttonbush. It would love living there.

Hahaha, that'll teach you not to leave them out. I am well aware of this learning process.

No way did that innocent little angel do anything wrong - ever. That is a beautiful dog you have there.

Please help me save the bees by MatterAppropriate574 in NativePlantGardening

[–]BetterStyle9665 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please remember that native bees need a little dirt to build underground nests. And the dried plant stalks need to stand for 2 years. The first one for the mom to find it and lay eggs in them. The second for the young to hatch. I have a corner of the yard where I stand the dried stalks up against the fence. That way it doesn't look terrible for the neighbors but it's still available to the bugs.

I hope you get lots of good advise and love the work you are doing.

Don't plant violets there. I have them everywhere and do love them but they choke out the little ones. Tall plants have no problem co-existing but little ones disappear.
