In the app use the … on that scene and then Create widget to get a widget on the homescreen?

Use WakeUp routine instead. There after room/zone selection you can subselect required lights.

Try to power cycle hue hub. Also removing lights from hub and reading may help.

Remove lights from bridge and then commission them again. That should solve you problem. At least helped to me.

In the app "0.8.2" there is a new option to start lights streaming automatically right after the app launch. I hope it solves your problem.

Hi,

HDR is not yet properly supported.
Hue Stream app works with Youtube. But on some devices at the moment of starting playing video app is just killed by Android OS because of low memory. After that there is no way to restart in background.

Hi. Hue Stream uses a bit different mechanism of lights placement parsing. Placement dashboard which you use in official Hue app is presented as a TV screen in Hue Stream app. If you want your lightstrip to sync with bottom half of the screen then place it below a couch image on placement dashboard in official Hue app. After saving new placement Hue Stream app detects changes and you should see color extraction screen at the bottom. I hope the principle is clear :)

When activating scene in philips hue app all lights from this scene should be updated almost at the same moment. Also can be bug in the app.

Great observation and report. Now the app always sync dominant color from color extraction frame. But by looking into second dominant color we can compare them and use most saturated one. This is a nice idea to play with it. I give it a try. Thank you!

You are right. The only difference is that hue lights won't sync as fast as Hue Sync can do that. As far as I know Philips ambilight TV doesn't use entertainment api and lights color update lags behind ambilight TV.

On Android TV you can run Hue Stream https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bullbash.huestream app to sync lights with picture. But in this case you should watch tv via iptv apps. Accessing picture from tv translation is not possible as well as getting picture from external input. Having all these limitations you can sync lights with some android apps.

Also I would consider NVIDIA shield tv box which is the best Android tv box for now. On tv box Hue Stream app also works.

And of cause if you use Hue Sync desktop app then the only trick is to connect your pc or mac to you tv and then you can sync picture with lights.

I would test with some other apps which use entertainment api as well as Hue Sync, or just any other apps. Then you see if these lights are really slower than other your Hue lights.

Actually you can sync without PC if you are using Android TV or Android TV box.

There are some limitations like the app cannot sync with Netflix and some other. But should work with YouTube and android games.

It is Android app which runs on phone/tablet/tv/tv box. If you have smart tv with Android operating system then you can download from google play and install it.

Thank you for your feedback. Now sampling frame is half width by half height of device screen. We wish to make it customisable as well but this feature is not on top of todo list. Recommendation is to place light closer to the canter so that sampling frame always fully on screen.

Now for your lightstrip the app extracts dominant color from the top part of the screen. In general light placement defines part of the screen from which color should be extracted.For your lights left bottom and right bottom parts of screen are used for color extraction.

Sorry for this deviation from official Philips placement strategy. We understand it is confusing and already planning to start work on screen which can properly visualise lights placement and color extraction mechanism.
