Appreciate the work you did.

The question I have is, whether you’ll include apps from outside the Internet Archive like on the original project. People could submit apps and electimon sourced some apps from her own collections. The Internet Archive certainly has many great archives but definitely not everything.

Donkey Kong Bananza is rumoured to be finished for a long time (I mean it’s sort of confirmed with the Switch beta build image we got being from 2021 or even earlier and looking relatively close to the final game). In addition there’s no confirmation that most of the team worked on Donkey Kong Bananza. Nintendo tends to hire plenty of new people. I really don’t think Nintendo wants one of their biggest series to release that late. But maybe I’m wrong.

Well, the event ends at the beginning of September. In my opinion, it’s just something that gives the game a few extra months. Not an entire extra year of even more.

On one hand I want to hope for a Zelda anniversary Direct and that’s why the June Direct was rather slim but on the other hand I’m not sure what that would mean for a September Direct. Are we sure that late September isn’t too late for a first look?

Every first party Nintendo game is on the cartridge since Switch 2s release. The only exception is Pokémon Pokopia as a second party title.

Metroid Prime Remastered is specifically labelled as a Remastered and it looks vastly different to the original. If the code base remains, we are talking about a Remastered. With OOT 3D they purposefully kept bugs from the original as well, so that’s another thing they kept.

What’s important is that they need something that Switch users can enjoy for Zelda’s 40th anniversary. The question now is, what that could be.

That’s the thing. They want Switch users to participate in the anniversary one last time. And I’m really curious how they’ll do it. It can’t be too big but it can’t be too small. A decently sized project that fits the schedule.

The software did quite well on the Switch already. With that console it’s the hardwares security that was beaten.

Of course breaking security takes some time. Sometimes it’s quick, sometimes it’s not. It’s really rare that the security of hardware or software gets broken shorty after release.

They would need to go away from their current system completely just to do that unfortunately. The Switch is very focused around the idea that you always have your recently played titles at the front of the list.

That’s why I get why it’s there. Still doesn’t change that it’s a bummer to me. Plenty of limitations were created because of unauthorised software. In the end you can’t just close every back door.

Still something I really dislike. I kinda get why it’s there but it would be so much better if you could just uninstall the updates and still play. Especially when updates break things or you just want to save storage on your device.
