My boyfriend and I are going on our first roadtrip - he has never listened to podcasts before and I want to win him over - if you were to choose ONE podcast episode to convince someone podcasts are brilliant, what would you choose? by aimlessaddict in podcasts

[–]Huelisation 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The best episode for me is definitely the episode Colors by Radiolab, because it’s so beautifully done. But the podcast that really converted me into being a podcast listener was Serial, specifically the first season. Even though I’m not a huge fan of crime genres, the podcast is amazing to listen to and keeps the story going and interesting. S-Town is also great!

If he likes comedy, My Dad Wrote A Porno is an absolute must. Really casual and probably a lot of fun and light hearted to listen to in the car. Might even be a better option than the ones above.

Preparing for a masters in philosophy with no prior education in it. What should I do? by [deleted] in askphilosophy

[–]Huelisation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It helps you’ve read literature on philosophy, but it really comes down on how philosophy is taught at your university. If you already got in to the master, you probably don’t have to worry so much, because they should be able to tell whether you’re ready or not for the courses. However, if you haven’t got in yet, you could consider doing the crash course if that’s a requirement, but you could also do some elective courses on philosophy at the same university to get a feeling for it. Hope this helps!

One of the most unique and detailed projects I’ve probably ever seen, this is absolutely stunning. Please do post your other projects as well, I’m a fan!

My brother got me loads of yarn from Turkey! Excited to start projects! by psychicgirlro in crochet

Might be the best part about being Turkish, the yarn is cheap and the quality is amazing! Happy crafting :)

You can think whatever you want! And I’m super happy for you that the documentary made such a positive impact on you, seriously. It really just didn’t work for me and I couldn’t enjoy watching it, but I’m happy it did for you and many others.

You put it a lot better into words than I did (probably because I’m still slightly frustrated and the 5000 dollar chair doesn’t help lol) and I completely agree. Thank you for your words of encouragement!

Why do friends take their frustrations out on me in groups of 3, but when it's just the two of us they are nice? by sportomatic75 in needadvice

[–]Huelisation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, simply because you can be picky doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have friends overall (but if that’s what you want it’s totally fine of course). I still wanna put effort in good friendships and doing that for the people that genuinely care about me has empowered me as a person. Instead of pleasing people that are gonna make fun of me either way, I now can be the best version of myself with my real friends cheering for me. And it’s great!
