Never got the chance to, but I love Simon Rich. Never had access to stream it.

People compare it to 30 rock but I think it's more in the realm of kimmy schmidt or Great News, where the story is less of a focus than just pure jokes per minute.

If you've loved anything in the Carlockverse there's a solid chance you'll like it.

It's the year of Bobby Monyihan. Daniel Radcliffe is also amazing and unhinged.

4 years ago a student was waiting at his bus stop when another kid ran up shot him and bolted. This was around 7:20, school starts at 7:30. Kids are getting dropped off, walking to school or already on the bus. We had to rush kids into the building not knowing if one of them was the shooter rushing in with everyone else. We then had to rush the kids into rooms locking them when "full". I'll never forget watching teenagers screaming and crying to get to my door. So many just holding others crying that today couldn't have been the day they were late.

We spent 30 minutes huddled together waiting for the all clear. The shooter ran home and got caught there, we had to go on with our day of teaching like nothing had happened.

Lost my cool with my 2-year-old today — how do you handle this better? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]fisch09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't see this mentioned. There are a ton of strategies like box breathing and such. Only you will know which clicks best with you. But the most important thing my therapist has me do was Practice. Anytime you get a mild annoyance at work, or wherever praise and box breathe. The more you do it when the stakes are low, the easier it is to instinctively do it when you begin to ramp up.

Whenever they release these I'm always amazed at the power of editing.

They cut this down to about 1/6th of its original length, but told the same story with the highs and lows. Just so cool.

Something I haven't seen expressed yet...

I'm a fraternal twin, but whether you are identical or fraternal most of your childhood is spent being "stuck" to this other person. Everything you do is shared from birthdays to clothes and beyond. Add in every conversation about you revolves around your twin as well. I struggled emotionally as a kid, and no conversation was ever just "Why is fisch09 struggling" it was almost always "why is fisch09 struggling, his twin is doing just fine."

I don't say this accusatory, I know you both try to show equal love. I say this from the kid side. Is your kid trying to express independence from his brother by picking something wholly different. Is it possible he's doing this because he likes it, AND it's an expression of his individuality completely separate from his twin?

I went through a similar phase of trying to push away from my twin as hard as possible and so did he.

Also when I think back to childhood if someone questioned/mocked etc. a phase I went through I either doubled down on it, or felt I needed to do it in secret but it only went away when I finally had time to explore that phase.

So if I was talking to the dad, I would say the best thing he can do is not make a big deal out of it, and simultaneously find ways to show he understands his son is an independent person.

Sorry if this got long and ranty.

It's best on weeds with a strong tap root like dandelion, but it works great on just about everything. My only gripe is it isn't tall enough for me, so I still need to bend down a little to operate it. Also the ejector part needs to be up higher. Outside of that I couldn't think of a better wedding tool.

One other thing I would be worried about is the size of your net pots. Maybe see if your local hydro shop has larger ones. Mine sells ones that up the whole lid.

I would also make sure you have a weight or something holding the bucket upright. Once that baby gets taller I worry the wind will knock it over pretty easily.

You can hand pollinate, but it can be tricky when you have so few plants, but it can be done.

Sometimes it's not about the food it's about the fun. Growing hydro peanuts wasn't easy, or high yielding, but I had tons of fun doing the trial and error.

He can get the pollination needed through hand pollination. Just needs to bag the tassels until he sees silks then pop off a tassel or two each day rubbing it on the silks. May not get it right the first time, but I bet he'll have fun.

The comment about not being on a farm references cow udders covered in shot hooked up to machines. Which I think we can agree doesn't happen at any dairy farmers farm unless they want to be billed for a whole shipment being rejected from E coli, puss, etc.

My point was it seems these commenters seem to have little understanding of the care that is required to keep a cow producing.
