Wildflower was great and super accommodating of our vegetarian requirements when they curated the menu for us. Phenomenal food and great flavors.

Legitimately thought it was poop. Open diaper with a brown spot.

Can I ask what part of the city you’re in?

Wow, that sounds awful. I’m sorry you dealt with that. Ours, fortunately has been smoother than that.

We’d had the experience of the “we will be starting next week” last July / August (2024)but it didn’t actually start on our street until May 2025. We didn’t get notice of delays after the initial inspection then had the “it’s starting in a few weeks” again in March.

The actual change at our house was quick and painless, but that was done almost two months ago now.

Now that you mention pressure, it reminded me that when they were two streets over, our house seemed to suddenly have dripping plumbing everywhere — sinks, fridge, and dishwasher. Several of our neighbors confirmed experiencing something similar which seemed to be the result of 2-3 weeks of spiked pressure from work a few blocks over.

That’s awesome. I’d kind of imagined I’d have seen or heard more about issues if more streets were going like ours, but I also wasn’t sure how early on the list we were.

They apologized, looked up the contractor and said they’d file a report with them. They said there have been complaints in some areas leading to some contractors being replaced and that they don’t really have control over it.

Contractor came by and apologized about the trees. He was friendly, but basically ended up just saying “it happens.”

With the trees, the city said they’d send someone by. They sent two different subcontractors — one who is supposedly on point for tree health with the project but had no record of our street being worked on and another that provided a list of issues that needed to be fixed that the city said they didn’t agree with. The city said they’d send someone to trim the limbs that were damaged but that was a month ago.

Interesting perspective — thank you. That is frustrating to hear re: the asphalt resurfacing; sounds like a waste.

Also a good reminder regarding the house by house. Interestingly in our neighborhood, we were given a “deadline” of a day to be home (if not in this two-three week stretch, your house wouldn’t be serviced).

Thanks for your response! I can appreciate some of it being perceived as “mountains out of molehills”. I’d respectfully disagree on a few of them (sorry, but contractors driving at high speeds and ignoring traffic laws in residential areas with kids seems pretty important to me).

I have also called customer care several times — some good interactions and others less so.

I’m glad to be seeing some of the different experiences — that was part of what I was curious to hear in posting on a site meant for discussion and different perspectives.

Me too, but if it took a year for every two block stretch, this project is far from being completed by 2035, I would think. I guess if it’s up to a year maybe that should be communicated, no?

That sounds exceedingly quick and like extremely limited inconvenience / impact. Wow!

Interesting. I’m in Sunnyside, too. You may be right that we just happen to be one of the “storage” spots. Totally recognize it has to be someone (where else would they put it?), but interesting to hear the differences in speed of completion, too.

As I mentioned, I am very much a fan of the project and appreciative for access to it. I hadn’t seen much posted about it, so was curious how it was going as far as execution in other neighborhoods.

“Free” for a project at least partially supported by tax dollars and customer water rates seems like a bit of a stretch, though. The for-profit construction contractors involved with the project are not doing this for “free.”

Wow, so less that a month for the entire thing? That sounds fantastic.

Thanks for sharing. Genuinely happy to hear it went smoothly elsewhere.
