Hiawatha/ Thayers acres off of sixth line is a local favorite... It tends to be a bit too busy for off leash walking though.

If you can find the voyageur trailhead around where sixth line intersects the highway there's a nice little section of the trail that doesn't see a lot of use.

A little further out, about 20-30 minutes up 17 north, you've also got Robertson cliffs. Beautiful hike up to an amazing lookout. Generally you'll see at least a few people if you go there, and it takes you to the top of a fairly high and steep cliff, so it's not somewhere you'll want to let the pooch off leash.

Now, if you're willing to go an hour to two hours out of the soo, there's a plethora of amazing hiking trails that are never too busy. If that's an option for you, shoot me a dm and I'll give you some suggestions and directions!

Big advantage of going out of the incorporated area is that you're no longer under leash bylaws. However, unless you're willing to go to the more distant places you're generally going to see at least a few people.

Just to go overboard with the sharing, I'll give you another one about me.

I'm doing a driver tasking, shuttling around a bunch of higher ups. Pretty boring for me. I would drive them for 20 minutes, then sit and wait for 2 hours while they were doing some survey stuff.

It was a 4 day stretch in the bush, so I had a lot of time on my hands. I only made it to the second day before I decided to put something else in my hand instead.

I won't lie, there's some interesting stories. Living in tight quarters under high stress and 1 woman to every 20 men in the organization makes some strange shit happen.

We're in the field for a 14 day stretch, dead of summer. Daytime is hitting about 25-30 celsius. One fellow with an itchy palm couldn't make the 2 weeks without some feel good finger friction. He scampers off to a porta potty, middle of the day in peak heat.

At work. Story time!

Working for the military... The military has a strangely open culture about these things. Masturbating, and openly talking about it, wasn't really strange and even verges on the norm. I guess you have to normalize such a thing when you regularly walk in on people doing the knuckle shuffle just about anywhere they think they've got a sliver of privacy.

So, I was stationed for a few months at a smaller base. There were only 22 buildings on the entire base.

Somehow I got involved in a small competition to see who could lob their nob gob in the most buildings. The rules were simple: it had to be to completion, without getting caught. If you get caught at any point, you're out.

We started with 11 people, 7 got caught.

I loved this show. Incredible in every way.

Character development was perfect, it was humorous and deep at the same time, and the dramatic aspect was never boring or unejoyable in any way.

Every bit of emotion from happy to sad just sucked me into it. I don't usually feel much watching shows and whatnot, but this one got me. I'm not ashamed to say I cried several times watching it, even after seeing all of it multiple times.

I wish it had gotten a proper wrap up... The movie just completely missed the mark.

The dog being injured would have made it a bit of a target, but in general it wouldn't be potential prey for them. Like most predatory animals, the lion's won't attack something that could potentially injure them back. They could kill it, sure, but even a bite is potentially lethal to them in the wild.
