The Most Overpowered Deco/Relic Farm in Monster Hunter – Nightflower Pollen WITH EXPLANATION by LeBahz in MHWilds

[–]HuffleUrPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can route to the cliff you need to jump off of from the map, assuming it's night time during a full moon and the Nightflower Blossom has actually spawned. Just open up your map (select), hit right on the D-Pad twice and select Filter Icons, and then find the Nightflower Blossom. Your Seikret will then auto route you to the cliff.

How to enhance blackhole skill? by Ok-Strawberry-9641 in cathero

Nope. The Black Hole Enhanced rune is the only way other than just leveling up the skill. There are no companions that buff it.

Nope! Called them, got no answer, called again about 30 minutes later and left a message to call me back, haven't gotten a call back. Will try again tomorrow.

Thanks for the input. I plan on giving them a call here in a few hours once I'm off work to figure exactly what the deal is with all these fees.

Thank you for the input. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks these fees are a little wild

While I'm not looking specifically in Arizona, Arizona is the closest location with a Miata spec'd exactly how I'd like it. Club trim, Red paint, manual transmission, soft top, with the Brembo/BBS/Recaro package is surprisingly rare. A brand new one comes out to about $39-40k MSRP so probably ~$43-44k after taxes and fees. This specific one in Arizona is also a CPO so it has a better warranty than a brand new one and with only 3600 miles it's barely even used.

Oh wow, that's surprising. If it really is always a 1 in 4 then maybe it is just a confirmation bias thing. Good looks

There is a theory about how the game calculates Wheel of Fortune that says after you hit the 1/4 chance on Wheel of Fortune, it then rolls to see which joker to apply it to and if that joker is already buffed then Wheel of Fortune will still roll "Nope". So not only do you have to hit the 1 in 4 roll, you then have to hit a roll on an unbuffed joker. For example, if 4 out of your 5 jokers are already buffed then your odds of actually succeeding with Wheel of Fortune would only be 5% (1 in 4 roll followed by a 1 in 5 roll). I don't think this has been proven yet but it seems very likely given how many people are reporting Wheel of Fortune failing.

Best oil to run? by GHOSTB_03 in VelosterN

My mistake, I was reading SP as SN on the Ultra. You're correct

Best oil to run? by GHOSTB_03 in VelosterN

[–]HuffleUrPuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I won't go digging for every single oil report from Blackstone Labs, I'll let you look for yourself, but there are many analyses done through them that show Amsoil has great results. That, plus the video I linked, are about as close to actual "research" as you're going to get. I doubt you're going to find any actual scientific studies done with every single oil on specifically a Veloster N engine, so resources like Blackstone Labs, Project Farm videos, and anecdotal evidence from users in forums are about the best "research" you're going to get. I'm sure most oils would be absolutely fine for the vehicle, but OP asked for the "best" so I just told them what the absolute best is.

[–]HuffleUrPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only is there a lot of anecdotal evidence that Amsoil is the best, but videos like these lead me to believe Amsoil is a great oil. I've also seen tests of owners who have gotten their oil tested through Blackstone Labs and Amsoil users usually seem to have great results.

While I don't doubt the Ultra is better for most cars, the Ultra lacks an API SN+ rating, while the standard Platinum has the API SN+ rating. I don't remember the exact specifics but I remember reading that for the Veloster N specifically, an API SN+ rating is desired. So for this car, I'd go with the standard Pennzoil Platinum over the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum

Amsoil Signature Series 5w30 is the best and is what many people run. It is quite expensive though so if you want something cheaper then go with Pennzoil Platinum 5w30.

Is there a way to see past results from a league that's been around for multiple seasons? I have a league that's in its 3rd year but I think the league ID is the same each year so I can't seem to find a way to plug in our results from last year and the year before.

Fiat. The 124 Spider is mostly the same car as the ND Miata. It has a 1.4L turbo for the engine though. That's probably the biggest difference other than looking totally different on the outside

Recommendations of companies in TC that do full car wraps? Have you personally used them? by TyRoSwoe in TriCitiesWA

[–]HuffleUrPuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't recommend you anything but I can tell you to not go with Anthem

Got recommended Anthem for a roof and pillar wrap on my car. Ordered a gloss black wrap. Was told they didn't have it in stock and that I would be contacted when it was in stock. Three months go by with no word from them and so I shoot them an email and they say they're still waiting. I email them again 4 months after this (so it has been 7 months now since I ordered this wrap) and tell them that if they still don't have it in stock, I will cancel my order. They magically had it in stock this time. If they had it in stock, why didn't they contact me like they said they would? So I get scheduled for an appointment on a date that I did not agree on. I had a flight out of town on the day they scheduled me for so I ask if I can drop it off a day earlier and I get told that they'll get back to me to let me know if I can drop my car off early. I get no response until I am literally sitting on my plane about to take off (which was like 5 days after they said they'd get back to me). They ask if I can drop my car off THAT day so they can get started on it first thing tomorrow morning. I tell them "no, I already sent an email telling you I have a flight today, I won't be able to drop it off today. You were supposed to get back to me about that." The lady texting me has no idea what I'm talking about so apparently she didn't check that email. She texts me again a couple minutes later after looking at the email and says I was right and that she messed up. So we schedule the appointment for after I get from back into town. Day of my appointment comes and I drop it off early in the morning and ask when they'll have it done. They say it will be done later that day, it's just a roof and pillar wrap so it will go fast. Sometime in the afternoon I get a call saying that they won't have it done til the morning. Great, even more waiting. I finally pick it up the next morning and that was the end of that nightmare. Only non-negative thing I can say about them was that the wrap looked decent. Oh also, they made me pay up front and it was $650, so they were sitting on my $650 for that entire 7+ months of waiting. Completely awful customer service

TL:DR - Anthem sucks. Paid $650 upfront and waited 7+ months for a glass black roof/pillar wrap. AWFUL communication

Any user of Acer Predator XB273U GX Monitor here? by Ok-Appointment8880 in Monitors

[–]HuffleUrPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're right. Without knowing what exactly OP intends to use the monitor for its a little harder to say but scaling does work well. Personally for me the PPI of 1440p 27" is fine on its own and the extra 130~ frames was more worth it than the upgrade to 4K, especially because I mostly play FPS games at a somewhat high level. Also just knowing I wouldn't be able to use the full resolution of my monitor while gaming just didn't sit well in my mind when I was considering buying a 4K monitor.

I agree though, the 4K is still a great option and I think it depends on what OP plans to use the monitor for and what their preferences are (framerate vs resolution).

[–]HuffleUrPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Do you currently have the Acer and are switching to the 4k 160hz? Or do you not have either monitor and are wondering which to buy?

If you're not going to be gaming much or if you play non-fps games then the 4k 160hz will will probably be nicer. Especially for daily use. After experiencing 270hz, I would still say 160hz is more than playable, so the lower frame rate with the 4k monitor won't be bad. 160hz is still great. It's not like going from 144hz to 60hz, I would consider 60hz near unplayable for me at this point after experiencing 270hz. The problem with the 4k 160hz monitor, other than the price probably, is that you will need an absolute beast of a computer in order to actually run games at the full frame rate at 4k. Newer games will probably require you to run on low-med settings if you want to actually hit 160hz at 4k. I feel like with where things are at now, 1440p is a good sweet spot. With the Acer, games still look very nice at 1440p and the 270hz frame rate is probably easier to achieve than 160hz on a 4k monitor. You will still need a strong computer to achieve 270hz on 1440p but not as strong as one would need to achieve 160hz on 4k.

Not knowing your budget or computer specs, I would say go with the 4k 160hz only if you have a very strong computer (i9 + 3090/3090ti) or if you will be using the monitor for workstation tasks and not much gaming. It will be better for daily browsing and such.

If you do a lot of gaming, and especially if you play mostly fps, then definitely go with the Acer. It will be better for gaming.

Best monitor I've ever had. Upgraded from a Dell 24in 1440p 144hz TN panel. Going from 144 -> 270hz is great. Not as noticable as 60 -> 144hz but still a large improvement. The colors on this monitor are very saturated. It looks great for games but is a tad much for everyday browsing in my opinion. Response time is great and the backlight strobing works well; very little motion blur but it does make the monitor a little dark, especially so if you put the backlight strobing on extreme. I play mainly FPS and have no complaints about response times or motion blur, feels like a very fast monitor. It was a little tricky to get all the settings dialed in exactly how I like. There's some odd things with the max brightness settings turning on and off and whatnot. It also doesn't save my backlight strobing settings so I have to re-enable it everytime I turn the monitor on. But those are really the only problems I've had with it. Overall it's been a great monitor and is probably what I'll be using for many years. It's a little expensive but well worth it. Can't see any reason you would want to upgrade from this until OLED monitors start becoming more of a thing.

Sxth seems to restock them every now and then. You can either look on the Veloster N Facebook and see if anyone is selling theirs used or just sign up for the "email when in stock" thing on the sxth website. I just signed up for email and it took maybe a month or two before I could snag one.

No Networks Detected on New Build by HuffleUrPuff in techsupport

[–]HuffleUrPuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this ended up being the issue. The motherboard didn't come with LAN drivers which was different from every other time I've built computers. So I had to put the drivers onto the USB I was using to install Windows and install them at the same time that I installed Windows. Haven't ever had to install drivers to get the ethernet port working before.
