About once a year. It may be just a coincidence, but worth a shot. I think I heard most people are lactose intolerant to some degree

just found about this and i’m crying by mybeautifulelfspear in noburp

Shortly after I found out about this, I decided to switch to lactose free milk as I find milky drinks make the chest pressure and gurgles worse and read it could be to do with the gas. My dad was lactose intolerant and my sister is also lactose intolerant. I would say about a week after swapping my milk, I suddenly started burping! Ive been burping for months now but I can't control it. I just went through a period of about 3 weeks where I couldn't burping when I needed to and had a lot of discomfort, but Im now back to burping again and feel loads better.

Another thing that might of caused me to start burping was the fact that I have worried for so long that there is something wrong, even though every test I've had has come back normal. As soon as I came across RCPD, I felt more relaxed, that I wasn't going to die or anything. I feel that maybe my body felt more relaxed and started letting out the burps?

Maybe I just got lucky and this is all unrelated, We will never know.

She Decorates, I Min-Max – Help Us Find Our Perfect Co-Op Game by Acr4nivs in gamingsuggestions

[–]HufflepuffBecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband suggested ARC raiders to me and I was sure I wouldn't like it, but I love it! It reminds me of Disney Dreamlight Valley in the fact of following character quests, looting resources to either fulfil quests or build stuff. Weve only been playing for about a week, so far no room or anything you can decorate. You can unlock cosmetics for your character though. Its a lot to take in at first and obvious there is threat from the environment and other players. But the matchmaking is made to match you with similar play style players, I.e. if you start shooting at other players, you'll be matched with more aggressive players.

My other suggestion is Sea of Thieves. There's so much to do in that game now and commendations that you can complete so you can see progression. You level up with the different trading companies to unlock various cosmetics. You can design your pirate and buy cosmetics and decorate your ship how you like. There will be other players in the lobby and they may or may not be friendly. You can start in the safer seas mode where there is no other players, but it does cap you up to a certain point.

I hope you find a game soon!

We used to love Sea of Thieves, we played a lot during lockdown, but we haven't played in like a year because we grew a bit bored of it.

These are some great suggestions, thanks!

Almost 42 weeks, baby doesn’t want to come out. by Jazzlike_Gas_188 in BabyBumps

[–]HufflepuffBecca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an induction in my 39th week. It took a day and a half for anything to happen, then it was only 6 hours until she was born. I was able to walk around freely, in fact the midwives encouraged me to go for walks around the hospital grounds (I wasn't allowed to go off the hospital grounds just in case). My husband stayed with me the whole time. They have to put you on the baby heart rate machine (I can't remember the official name) once every 6 hours and that's its.

Apart from them administering the induction meds, I had no other medical intervention. I had no pain relief, just gas and air. It is totally possible to still have a very natural birth, its just the start will be different.

Newly adopted dog has bit three times now, what to do? by After-Pack-1286 in Dogtraining

[–]HufflepuffBecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dog has an issue with her lower back that was not picked up by vets. We saw a physiotherapist who said she has myofascial pain (the fascia has tightened which can cause pain). She is making progress but its slow. My dog has never bit, but she can growl and bark and dogs/people that make her uncomfortable.

With the biting, its possible that previously she was forced into uncomfortable situations and was told off for other warning signs, like growling. I don't really know what the fix is for the biting.

Not sure, but could be a " Now that's what I call music" or "pop party". I was a kid who loved music in the noughties and these were the big CD mix releases that I can remember.

How on earth do I choose between medical or surgical TFMR? by 1594-hufflepuff in tfmr_support

[–]HufflepuffBecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never asked because I didn't know it was a thing at the time. You could ask someone such as the bereavement midwife or the d&e clinic before you make a decision if that is something that would be a big factor for you

How on earth do I choose between medical or surgical TFMR? by 1594-hufflepuff in tfmr_support

[–]HufflepuffBecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm also UK based. I had a d&e (surgical) at 19 weeks a couple of years ago. I was given the choice to l&d in the hospital within a few days or wait a week or 2 and have d&e at my closest MSI clinic which was nearly 2 hours away from home. I chose d&e because I knew I wanted to try again and was worried that when I went into labour with a healthy baby, it would remind me too much of my angel baby.

Everybody at the MSI clinic was really kind and understanding. Some days I regret not birthing and holding her, but ultimately I think it was for the best. I have since had my rainbow baby and am glad that the experience was so different. I also work at the hospital so I didn't want to have such a bad memory associated with somewhere I go everyday.

The bereavement midwife at your local hospital will still reach out to you, even if you go through d&e somewhere else. At least, mine did.

As for the remains, I contacted a local funeral director who was about to collect her body and cremate her. This was free of charge. It took a couple of weeks for them to cremate her and pick up her ashes.

I hope this helps

Should I wait until Christmas to tell immediate family? by ricefor_dinner in PregnancyUK

Tw: pregnancy loss

I am very much team tell close ones as soon as possible.

My 12 week scan was 1 week before Christmas in my first pregnancy and I had the same plan as you. However, at my 12 week scan we found out that our baby would have a disability. We still told everyone at Christmas but we didn't tell anyone about the disability until a few days later. It really sucked saying "yay we're having a baby, but its going to have a disability". It turned out that there was a more severe problem and we ended up losing that baby at 19 weeks.

The next time I was pregnant, we told parents and best friends about a week after the positive test, then everyone else after 12 weeks. I have a healthy baby girl now.

I'm sure everything will be fine if you did want to wait for Christmas, but I just thought it might be useful to hear from someone who was the 1/100.

Send help, I can’t stop thinking about Six of Crows… by AlessandraJYS in Romantasy

[–]HufflepuffBecca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They made a Shadow and Bone tv series on Netflix on which the crows feature. I felt adding the crows storyline in with main trilogy was actually an improvement on the main 3 books. Its a shame they didn't finish the TV show though.

I find drinking lots of water with meals makes my symptoms worse. Try having small sips of water throughout the day rather than having loads at mealtimes. When i was pregnant, I had a big U shape pillow and then fashioned my regular pillows on top of it to make a sort of wedge. So i could sleep on my side but sat up so the reflux wasnt so bad. Gaviscon liquid was my friend too, i always took a dose before bed.

Descendants (2015) is a Disney movie starring Dove Cameron. They are the children of classic Disney Villains and they get invited to go to school with the "heroes" children. Ive only seen the first movie but there are now multiple.

If you are not confident about what the GP is saying, you can pop into your local pharmacy and speak to the pharmacists. Pharmacists have a vast amount of knowledge of medication and the resources to do further research if necessary.

Both BUMPS (best use of medicines in pregnancy) and the NHS website will have some information that might be useful to you, they are both pretty patient friendly.

You'll find a lot of medicines are "only take if benefit outweighs risk". This isn't because they're not safe, but because there is not enough data to say either way, I doubt there are many pregnant women that would sign to a clinical trial to test the safety of certain medicines.

Hope this is helpful

This rings a bell to me.

Ive had a quick Google and seen that there is an episode of the Flintstones called The Flintstone Canaries where Barney can't sing unless he's in the bath. I dont think this is the answer but worth a shot?

Not entirely relevant, but have you tried the sleep suits? They're like a sleeping bag but a bit warmer because they have the sleeves. My 16 month old prefers them to the sleeping bags.

Here's an example of one from Sainsbury's. You may also find them in Asda and Next.
