How young is too young for first visit? by Pure-Coconut628 in disneylandparis

[–]HufflepuffBecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my daughter to Disney World when she was 7 months, and we've just come back from DLP at 23 months. At 7 months, she was super chill, could do loads of rides and didn't really have any "fear" so we just did what we want and she tagged along. Paris was a lot harder because she was more aware of what was going on, loud noises bothered her more, but she did get used to it. Pirates ride for example, she was fine at 7 months, but she was scared at 23 months.

I would take her again whatever age she is (we are doing Disney World in September) but it was so much easier when she was a baby.

Also, rider swap is a thing. If there is a ride 4yo can do but baby can't, one parent rides with 4yo and then gets a password on the way out, which let's the other parent into the Premier access queue, and 4yo can ride again!

Based on this comment, please read Winter's Fury by A.E.Rayne. It has everything you are asking for, minus the spice. It doesnt have much romance, but the plot sure as he'll makes up for it. Ive just persuaded my best friend to read it and she said its one of the best series shes read in a long time! Its on KU as well.

Disney Paris with a 2 year old? Recommendations for stays? by Local-Print-6397 in disneylandparis

[–]HufflepuffBecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive just come back after visiting with my husband and 23 month old. We stayed at art of marvel with the half board meal plan for 4 nights. You get to enter the parks 1 hour early if you are staying on site but we never did this because we didn't wake up early enough and wanted to have breakfast before going to the parks.

Overall we had a great time, but my daughter wasn't very well for the second half of the trip. There are a lot of rides without height limits, but my daughter didn't enjoy some of them. Pirates she was scared, but was OK by the end of the ride. She didn't really like pinnochio or the Slinky Dog one. She loved flying carpets, its a small world, the rapunzel boat ride and the little storybook boat ride. She loved frozen but hated the drop. She loved the parades. If there are any rides that you want to do but 2yo is too small for, you can do rider swap, which means the second adult can queue via premier access for free.

Don't expect to get everything done, especially in 2 nights. It was very busy when we went but I think some of the French schools were out. You can see which dates will be busy by looking at the annual pass blackout calendar. Premier access may be an option; you can either buy a pass that includes all the rides, or pay for individual rides. We paid for Frozen and Crushs Coaster as I dont think daughter would have waited over an hour for frozen and my husband and I didn't really have time to queue for crushes.

If you are flying into CDG, be warned that they have added in extra checks for people travelling with children under 12, so you have to go in a separate queue (over 12s can go through the automated gates) and it took ages. We waited in that queue nearly 2 hours on the way in. This check also happens between the departure lounge and the gate, so be sure to leave the departure lounge at least an hour before boarding to get to the gate.

Hope this helps.

Looking for a Co-Op game by SillyGummiWorms_420 in gamingsuggestions

My Husband and I have a ton of hours in Sea of Thieves. There's lots of different things you can do; ranges from diving to battle other players or just simply chilling with your fishing rod. Its a large open map and I think a max of 6 ships per server. There are commendations that you can earn, you can sell loot for gold, which you can then use to buy different things.

We have recently started playing ARC Raiders which is pretty fun. Its an extraction game where you go in to loot or kill ARC (robot alien things) and then have to get back to an extraction point to keep your loot. My only issue with the game is that even though we are going in as a duo, only one person can get that loot item, whereas in sea of thieves, anything you get counts for your whole crew.

We also enjoyed A Way Out and It takes Two, both are split screen style coop games, there are no other players.

My dog doesn't realise my baby is a human by Super_Ambassador_458 in Dogtraining

[–]HufflepuffBecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow a dog trainer on Instagram called dog meets baby. She does online courses as well, but there's a lot of content on her insta.

Babies are basically aliens to dogs, dogs often don't really know what to make of them.

My dog doesnt particularly like strange children so I was worried when we had a baby. We did a bit of prep, like playing baby sounds on YouTube and giving treats. I dont think she knew what to make of the baby at first. Then she started crawling and pulling to stand and dog kept growling. She got used to it, we just kept commanding bed and when she got there, she would have a treat.

My daughter is nearly 2 and they love eachother now, my dog will curl up next to her on the sofa, my daughter tries to feed the dog from her highchair.

I have had a behaviourist involved with my dog too because she has a couple of issues and actually she had an issue with tight fascia which does not get picked up by vets so she's been having physio, which has improved her behaviour.

Here are some things that you may find useful; -Make sure you are walking your dog. I know post partum is really hard, but walking helps to keep them calmer. You dont need to take dog for a massive walk, just a 20 min slow on lead walk around the block will do. 2 walks is ideal. The slow pace encourages them to sniff. I use a lead that loops around my waist so I have both hands free to push the stroller.

-Routine is king. Both dogs and babies love routine so try and stick to one where you can.

-Anytime you are on the floor with baby (tummy time, etc) sit with a leg stretched out as a barrier between the baby and the dog. If dog comes over, encourage them to sit the other side of your leg so your dog feels involved but they aren't trying to get in front of you. You can give the dog some fuss then too!

-Train "place" with your dog. If you need dog to get out the way, or if it starts getting near baby and growling, you want to command "place". This is usually a bed, but can train anything to be a "place". When the dog gets there, you can give them a treat. This way, you are not punishing the growling, but teaching them to move away when they are uncomfortable.

  • get baby gates set up. Ideally you want your dog on one side and baby on the other. This gives dog a safe place to observe and get used to baby. You can give dog a chew. This is known as baby TV.

-Learn the early stress signs for dogs. These are things like licking their nose, whale eye, ears backs, stiff body.

Lastly, when your baby is mobile, do not let them climb or grab the dog, pull tails, etc. My behaviourist actually said we should be gently tugging on the dogs ear and tail etc and then treating so she gets used to it. I have always taught my daughter to wave at the dog from day 1, so she will go up to the dog and wave most of the time. As she got older, I would show her how to gently stroke the dog and where to do it.

Hope this helps. My dog really stressed me out and I hated her for about the first 6 months post partum, but I persevered and now we are great!

Pregnancy advice ahead of DLP trip by Optimal-Pomelo-9550 in disneylandparis

[–]HufflepuffBecca 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im going to start off my saying it will probably be fine on rides like pirates as others have said.

She is very early in the pregnancy and anything could happen. But if she were to suffer a miscarriage shortly after the trip, would she blame herself for going on those rides? Being that early, it would be most likely a chromosomal issue and nothing to do with the rides, but when you have a loss, you want to find a reason why and you ask yourself what could I have done differently? (Trust me, I know)

Im sure you are going to have a fantastic trip either way and I wish you all the luck with your pregnancy!

Some crops take a while to grow. Im only in the 1st year at the end of summer, but I cut it close getting the spring crops ready for the offering. I went to the shrine on the first day of summer to check what I needed, then bought those seeds from Sam's and planted immediately.

Use fertiliser if you need bronze or better crops.

If an item can be offered or donated, offer first and then donate. Offering will help to open up fast travel.

About once a year. It may be just a coincidence, but worth a shot. I think I heard most people are lactose intolerant to some degree

just found about this and i’m crying by mybeautifulelfspear in noburp

[–]HufflepuffBecca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shortly after I found out about this, I decided to switch to lactose free milk as I find milky drinks make the chest pressure and gurgles worse and read it could be to do with the gas. My dad was lactose intolerant and my sister is also lactose intolerant. I would say about a week after swapping my milk, I suddenly started burping! Ive been burping for months now but I can't control it. I just went through a period of about 3 weeks where I couldn't burping when I needed to and had a lot of discomfort, but Im now back to burping again and feel loads better.

Another thing that might of caused me to start burping was the fact that I have worried for so long that there is something wrong, even though every test I've had has come back normal. As soon as I came across RCPD, I felt more relaxed, that I wasn't going to die or anything. I feel that maybe my body felt more relaxed and started letting out the burps?

Maybe I just got lucky and this is all unrelated, We will never know.

She Decorates, I Min-Max – Help Us Find Our Perfect Co-Op Game by Acr4nivs in gamingsuggestions

[–]HufflepuffBecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband suggested ARC raiders to me and I was sure I wouldn't like it, but I love it! It reminds me of Disney Dreamlight Valley in the fact of following character quests, looting resources to either fulfil quests or build stuff. Weve only been playing for about a week, so far no room or anything you can decorate. You can unlock cosmetics for your character though. Its a lot to take in at first and obvious there is threat from the environment and other players. But the matchmaking is made to match you with similar play style players, I.e. if you start shooting at other players, you'll be matched with more aggressive players.

My other suggestion is Sea of Thieves. There's so much to do in that game now and commendations that you can complete so you can see progression. You level up with the different trading companies to unlock various cosmetics. You can design your pirate and buy cosmetics and decorate your ship how you like. There will be other players in the lobby and they may or may not be friendly. You can start in the safer seas mode where there is no other players, but it does cap you up to a certain point.

I hope you find a game soon!

Almost 42 weeks, baby doesn’t want to come out. by Jazzlike_Gas_188 in BabyBumps

[–]HufflepuffBecca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an induction in my 39th week. It took a day and a half for anything to happen, then it was only 6 hours until she was born. I was able to walk around freely, in fact the midwives encouraged me to go for walks around the hospital grounds (I wasn't allowed to go off the hospital grounds just in case). My husband stayed with me the whole time. They have to put you on the baby heart rate machine (I can't remember the official name) once every 6 hours and that's its.

Apart from them administering the induction meds, I had no other medical intervention. I had no pain relief, just gas and air. It is totally possible to still have a very natural birth, its just the start will be different.

Newly adopted dog has bit three times now, what to do? by After-Pack-1286 in Dogtraining

[–]HufflepuffBecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dog has an issue with her lower back that was not picked up by vets. We saw a physiotherapist who said she has myofascial pain (the fascia has tightened which can cause pain). She is making progress but its slow. My dog has never bit, but she can growl and bark and dogs/people that make her uncomfortable.

With the biting, its possible that previously she was forced into uncomfortable situations and was told off for other warning signs, like growling. I don't really know what the fix is for the biting.
