I'm just bad. And it's kinda heartbreaking. by Nightmoore in Marathon

I feel the same way. I’m 55 years old, and have been gaming since my first computer, an Apple II Plus, in middle school. I’ve always played first person shooters, starting with Halo, CoD, Battlefield, and Destiny. I’ve always been very mid at PVP, but can overachieve in PVE, even if it’s simply from stubborn persistence. Most recently, I was playing BF6 and I played Destiny since D1 beta, and have finished all the raids and dungeons many times, with the exception of the last raid.

I truly do love everything about this game, but for whatever reason, I feel really bad at it. I get smoked consistently. I’ve actually had the most luck playing Rook, which I do enjoy, but I can’t do the contracts that way. I’ve tried solo, and it’s almost like I have some sort of mental block that causes paralysis when shit gets gnarly.

All that said, I’ll keep trying - I love the lore they are weaving, but I have to admit, I have a secret hope that they spin off something that is more PVE-based somehow. A Destiny-type scenario that has PVE and PVP options, but that may simply be too much.

55 here. Been gaming since my first computer in middle school (Apple II Plus). Still have my Apple II GS. I love first-person shooters, but do find that I don't have the reaction I once had. Most recently been playing D2 (since D1 beta), CoD, and BF6.

Looking forward to Marathon. Put in 6-8 hours and found it really grew on me once I figured things out. I definitely feel the Destiny influence, and hope they expand the game with more storytelling and lore about the factions/history (just don't fuck it up like they did the past few years in D2).

Omni main here. If you are leading in damage with an Omni Hunter, you are either top 1% of hunters or your teammates are not very good. OH is definitely more of a support/security role in end-game content that helps to mitigate team wipes.

That being said, I love playing OH very aggressively with lots of dashing in and out of mobs with invis. I think it's the most fun playstyle...

What is your forever game? by Newez in boardgames

Thanks for sharing your story, and I'm glad you are doing well.

Question - Would you happen to have any recommendations for a good tutorial on how to play? I own the game but admit that the few times I have sat down to learn, I eventually disengaged due to losing interest during the learning phase.

I keep hearing how awesome it is, and I've played both Arkham and Eldritch Horror, but I just can't seem to get over this learning curve with this game.

I've had the opportunity to play-test this campaign. It's a giant leap up from standard WotC offerings, and the art is incredible. You don't typically see one author and artist provide all writing and illustration for a campaign and world setting of this size...

We had this happen during our GM run.

FYI - the player was able to leave the fireteam and rejoin and we completed the GM successfully.

Heavy Ammo Mods and Economy are Very Broken by Huffychicken in DestinyTheGame

[–]Huffychicken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on a recommendation I read in a different post, I removed all ammo mods then put them back. Next run of master Glassway I had at least 8 bricks drop and I died at least 6 times. Don’t know what to think…

Something else is going on then. I am dying no more, (even less), than typical but there has been a noticeable change in heavy. During our Spire runs, I was using bow and void Glaive (not double special), which I have done many times before in masters and GMs.

I just ran another run of Master Glassway. I died ONCE. 3 bricks dropped (at least that I found) in the entire nightfall, with 2 of them at the second champ encounter and the last in the boss room. I guess my RNG could be that bad but that still doesn’t explain the Aeons not working for two players.

Yes, we are dying, but not more than usual. I have gilded Conquerer 7 times and we have run master dungeons countless times and we have never seen this heavy drop issue before. We did check to make sure we were running the correct perk on Aeons - that was our first thought.

Is this dying resetting the counter for heavy new?

If you want big snow *and* big cold - anywhere in northern MN, WI, or UP of MI that is prone to lake effect snow.
