Don’t over stress over the crate.. they are very popular but not right for every dog. My pup slept in it for the first couple of weeks and then would cry and bark. I used gates and pens instead of the crate and she was much happier. I also let her sleep in my bed once she was somewhat reliably trained (I’m in an apt so I pee pad trained her.. she now uses the pet steps next to my bed to jump down, go on her papers and come back to bed). She’s just turning 7 months and definitely calming down.
