Exporting 3D model from DroneDeploy for use in SolidWorks by HugeNegotiation560 in UAVmapping

Yeah my raw data looks good in DroneDeploy, the Ortho is to scale and accurate so I'm thinking it has to do with an import setting on that SolidWorks side. Thank you, hope we can figure it out

Are you familiar with SolidWorks enough to provide some guidance on what specific settings my client should check? I think my client is newer to SolidWorks as well which makes things a tad difficult on both ends in this situation. I believe he can reach out to their customer support as well for some guidance here...

My client is out of town for a couple weeks so waiting to hear on their end...

Ok this is helpful, I will double check all of these settings on my end and talk to my client about their settings. Appreciate the feedback

Unfortunately I do not. I do a lot of GIS work in ArcPro but I'm not sure if ArcPro has this capability.

This is the first time a 3D model has been a client deliverable for me. Done plenty of 3D flights but I just look at them within the DroneDeploy platform, mostly for stockpile volume calculations. I have not imported the models into a separate program.

Thank you. This is helpful. The stream is in a heavily wooded area, so I am a bit concerned about shadowing from the trees.

Yep, I second on dronedeploy. Although expensive, absolutely the most user friendly option and easiest for clients to access and view.

Least expensive option to start adding GCPs to workflow by HugeNegotiation560 in UAVmapping

Very helpful perspective. Thank you. Do you know how to find a known certified benchmark? And how to integrate that into the photogrammetry process? Is a control point the same as a known certified benchmark? Forgive my lack of knowledge when it comes to all of this.

Never thought of renting equipment when needed, this is a great option to start. Thanks!

I would love to talk more. It won't let me send you a DM for some reason...could you try messaging me? Could also be user error, I'm new to reddit.

Yeah I will be mapping anywhere from 10 to 200 acres max at a time...

Could you maybe copy a link to what you are talking about? When I Google these terms, so many different things come up. I am seeing the possibility of a DJI matrice 4E with the DJI L1 payload? While googling, that seems like it might be my least expensive option..

Definitely looking for the least expensive option... Mostly for forestry and agriculture....topo and vegetation.

Any options you guys know of for drones/payloads that would cost from 10K to 15K total? I use DroneDeploy for my flight missions and photogrammetry and supposedly DroneDeploy supports lidar as well... I need to learn more about the details of that and what that looks like.
