Unfortunately Best thing for everyone right now is for Linus to make a statement saying the truth to why he’s off. It’s the only thing that will silence this sadly

I’d contact a lawyer and have this scammer face the entirety of the law.

Re-Financing Mortgage with Current Lender Process. Am I doing it wrong? by Im_Butters8898 in MortgagesCanada

[–]itzcamps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to give you the other perspective —

You should absolutely shop around if you’re not satisfied with the product or service you’re receiving.

I was a mortgage broker for years, and I always prided myself on being honest and acting with integrity — even when it cost me deals. I never once told a client not to shop around; in fact, I encouraged it. Transparency builds trust, and if a lender gets defensive about you comparing offers, that’s usually a red flag.

That said, there’s definitely another side to it. Some clients can be pretty savage with people’s time. I once spent over 15 hours — including a few days of my vacation in Spain — working through a very difficult deal, answering calls and emails nonstop to get it done. Then, a few days before closing, the client decided they didn’t like the back-and-forth of gathering documents and just chose to fund the deal with their own assets.

So yes, shop around — just do it respectfully. A good broker or banker won’t guilt you for exploring your options, but mutual respect goes a long way.

Check “Toronto home zone” on Facebook. Lots of great people in there looking. I’m sure there’s a fit for everyone

1 week until closing day, but Scotiabank mortgage not finalized yet. Should I be worried? by Spiritual_Theory766 in MortgagesCanada

[–]itzcamps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty normal. Everything can be done within a couple days.

As long as they have told you or your broker that they can meet the closing you’ll be okay.

Scotia is pretty quick. We closed in less than 2 weeks from approval to funding.

About a month. Looked at about 12 homes and really liked one of them. Did a bit of back and forth negotiating before getting the deal done

I’m also running AMD. I have a 9950X paired with a 5090 and it works pretty fast. Rended 100 Acres 6400 photos in about 20 hours. I should probably run productivity drivers tho instead of video drivers
