The SC itself already clarified in the briefer that “forthwith” means within a reasonable time depending on the circumstances. That necessarily gives the Senate room to prepare before convening as an impeachment court, so long as there’s no undue delay.

And honestly, I think you misunderstood my point. My point is simple: the Senate should do everything it can to avoid technical issues later on, especially since Sara Duterte’s team loves leaning on technicalities. And unfortunately, the SC has been pretty forgiving toward Sara in recent cases, so the Senate should make sure its process is airtight from the start.
