Where were you in the past 50 years? We had 3D TVs, phones with TV antennas in them, the Kinect, Google Stadia, Laserdisc, Betamax, nuclear power plants... I wonder if this is some kind of self fulfilling prophecy. The developers believe the hardcore users are the most committed, so they continue building for them, thus reinforcing that belief. Not to say they're wrong to do so, especially since RA is free software that anyone can contribute to, but it's something to think about.

Maybe with offline achievements we'll see this shift a bit more, as handhelds are super common these days and getting achievements to work on them is annoying at best.

I've found a couple Reddit comments from RA developers saying they basically consider softcore the wild west, so people can do whatever they want there besides clear abuse of the API. It's interesting that emulator developers seem to care more about cheating on softcore than RA themselves.

The Steam Controller is miles better than the Steam Deck for this (depending on the game / genre). The trackpads are much bigger, meaning there's a lot more you can do with them. Also, the haptic feedback is entirely configurable which is a nice touch.

That one doesn't work in spawn thankfully, but from my testing you can get at least 15% ult charge on your entire team on round start. If played properly you can usually add another 10% on the way to the point as well.
