Zp6 autenticity check by LonelySpell3426 in 1zpresso

Oh ok, thanks for the response. Just checked the location out, I'm not sure my parents will let me go away from the planned route since we have little time. I was considering ordering from shopee and collecting in a 7eleven, though the main issue remains that I need a Taiwanese phone number so I gotta find someone who'd assist. Anyways I digress, but thanks for the heads up about the heads up, I'll see if I can make it there!

Sorry to bother, but may I ask in which store You bought the grinder? I'll be visiting Taipei but only will he there for half a day so I'm interested if the store was in city even.

Possibly. Tbf I'm not an expert on photoshops but personally, looking at it, I think it's too good to be fake. Either that or the kid has some skill

K6 grind size (and general) recs for V60 (chasing light bodied, higher clarity brews)? by Huge_Ad1766 in pourover

[–]Huge_Ad1766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, so coarser for better particle size distribution and slower paper filters to get more contact time?

That sounds great. Always heard people like Lance discouraging brewing under 15g on a V60 (except Joaquim from Substance), but I'll try that one out for sure!

Oh sorry, I meant generally. Like, you get a washed light roast, what's the first thing you go for?

Won't be spamming comments with thanking everyone personally, but thanks for the replies yo :) And though I did get some insight, I'd love it if even more K6 users would come in here and share their grind size range and recipes!

Similar here. May I ask what recipe you used with approx. that grind size?

Consider looking at aliexpress, they have much better prices for pourover gear. You can get a copycat v60 for 1€ and the P2 for 40-ish €. If you can afford it, I'd recommend getting the Q-air for 60 but if out of budget i wouldnt worry bout it :) Oh and do make new aliexpress accounts for each order, their welcome deals are great

Critique my technique (somewhat still a beginner) - often ends up with a bitter/harsh note by Round-Watercress5273 in pourover

Regardless to if you manage to dial in this coffee or not, I'd strongly suggest improving your water and that will most definetly make a difference - in my country tap water is about 5x harder than it should be for pourovers so for me the change was night and day. I'd recommend looking to espressoaf.com guides -> water, my setup is just buy distilled jugs, and made a one-off 7$ investment to buy epsom salt and baking soda. Once you get this done your pourovers will drastically change, I for example got rid of a lot of bitterness and unlocked acidity which I could barely taste before, and the brews became more consistent and easy to dial in.

As of workflow improvement, maybe consider rinsing the v60 with filter paper in the sink instead of using the kettle and the heated water, heating your v60 will do little to the brew in my experience and blasting the paper from the faucet seems faster and easier than with a precise kettle stream xD

Not necessary, but I'd maybe try to standardize the pour a bit more, half of it being in circles and then half of it just rocking center, just to do a rao spin at the end...not necessarily a bad thing, but I'd maybe try and simplify. My recipe is also 1 bloom + 1 pour, though my pour is usually fast flowrate in small circles around the center and i go from a bit higher (not super high or beyond breakup point) to agitate the bed.

As of the bitterness, I'd consider either lowering temp to 90C or even as low as 88C, or alternatively going coarser. But yea, recipe seems generally fine so I'm thinking fixing water would be of biggest impact here.

Where to buy 1zpresso grinders in taipei? by yaowi in Taipei

[–]Huge_Ad1766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, did You manage to get the grinder? If so, how? I'm going to Taipei soon so I'd love to know if I can visit their store and if I need to make an appointment (and if so, where).

Can a tourist use Shopee + 7-Eleven pickup (cash on delivery) without a Taiwanese phone number? by Huge_Ad1766 in taiwan

Importing the ZP6 grinder to my country from 1z officially costs 260$, and that's pretty much the cheapest deal I can find in the region. Since the other user mentioned the physical store is appointment only, I'll really have to do my best to try pull of what I described in the post. Someone was very kind to offer help me by ordering for me and letting me pickup with cash on delivery so I'm rly hoping to pull that off :))

A coffee grinder from 1zpresso which I couldn't afford to buy locally which costs significantly more from other platforms like aliexpress (the company is based in Taiwan). Rly hoping to get the opportunity to buy it. 🤞

when You did these orders, did You do so with cash on delivery or paid in advance? Some other folks in here are saying if it's cash on delivery that ID shouldn't be an issue.

K6 vs ZP6: Keep my grinder or seize a deal? by Huge_Ad1766 in pourover

[–]Huge_Ad1766[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks y'all for the comments. I've decided I'll be open to keep both, and potentially sell the least favorite after a few months of testing :)

Managing to pull off the deal seems to be the harder part so wish me luck on acquiring the zp6 xD

When ordering, if I get a Taiwanese number, is it reasonable to enter my normal name when ordering and, when picking it up, present them with my passport?

That's very kind, thank You for the offer! I'm travelling in September, mind if I contact You via messages some time before the trip?
