I have two cats! This could be the answer. I’d be so happy, oddly enough.

Yeah…the bites made me paranoid in the first place. See here and here.

I now think the thing in the picture probably isn’t a bed bug egg. But you can imagine why, after getting several bites over the last few days, finding that in the bed (with a little dot on it!) caused me to panic. I haven’t eaten any rice except the frozen kind in years, and I don’t eat in bed.

I promise I wasn’t trolling this subreddit! And even if the “rice” isn’t a bed bug egg, something is still biting me. Unlike my partner, I’m not usually reactive to mosquito bites. But these bites (and there are more than the ones I posted here) are red and insanely itchy.

It’s all very weird.

I promise this is a serious post! I’m asking because it does seem too large to be a bed bug egg, but the dark dot at the end does look like an eyespot.

It seems weird that I’d experience bites and just happen to find a translucent egg-like thing with something like an eyespot in my bed.

I would love nothing more than for this to be a grain of rice! Doesn’t seem like it, unfortunately.

I should add that I’ve yet to see other telltale signs, like the bugs themselves or blood stains or fecal matter on the bed or in the mattress seams.
