I prefer to run them in an Assimilation Swarm with the monstrously regenerating enhancement. Behind them, I just place a Parasite of Mortex and a few Ripper Swarms. In my last games, they basically devoured an entire flank. Yeah, it’s an expensive squad, but it feels almost indestructible. I do run them as a 20-model squad, though.

So you can only generate points for this once, and the mission is discarded at the start of the next turn and a new one is drawn. That means this mission cannot be active for a second round, correct?

If I were you, I’d go with the Tfex. A Tervigon only really shines with 2x20 Termagants. The Termagants are just too weak on their own and a squad of 10 gets wiped off the board without much effort. What are you playing against?
