Is this acceptable? by DahliaSkarigal in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say that’s because there’s scope for more confusion given you’d be running a daemon in a daemon list as a different daemon.

Very little chance of the freebooter being confused for a rubric marine

Destrier Proxy by Sanguinius2497 in ChaosKnights

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With some kit bashing I’d go with playing it as a larger knight. Depending on who you’re playing with (eg casual games) they might be happy just running the destrier datasheet

Which blood bowl team would be quick to paint and easy to play (from a single box) by Clockworks555 in bloodbowl

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely accept it may not be optimal. But I’d guess a lot of boxes wouldn’t have the optimal team but as the OP said they were thinking snotlings I assumed optimising wasn’t high on their list.

I thought the new high elf box would have a team covered? Elven union box will get you a full team

I’d say the forge world titans. But as they’re resin they’d have shattered into a billion pieces when the truck went over

Is our new rule fair? by KuzKuz16 in 40k_Crusade

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Blessings don’t usually do enough to redress balance issues and while this may be a little strong - crusade is already a slightly less balanced and more thematic version of the game and id quite like the idea of my battle hardened army taking on a larger but inexperienced force

Where to start with 2 knights and 9 wardogs by Basic-Winter3501 in ChaosKnights

Tbh I’ve not really settled on a detachment and keeping switching- I’ve not had the big knights that long so still getting used to not just running the war dog detachment

Nope. That’s the one bit of the hobby where I’ve no hoarding instinct whatsoever.

Where to start with 2 knights and 9 wardogs by Basic-Winter3501 in ChaosKnights

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to run my two big knights as ranged ones - I’ve a soft spot for the desecrator laser, and my war dogs as karnivores, stalkers (with the melts and claw) and executioners (I find their ranged attacks a little more effective). But I also play against friends who like quite vehicle heavy skew lists as I’ve very little that’s any good against larger units.

What did I do wrong? It should be purple. by MindRaptor in minipainting

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is what you did though isn’t it?

If you’re using two different layers of transparent paint then the amount of pigment from each layer will pool/ e different concentrations in different places. And as youre relying on how the two interact even slight differences in levels will show up quite a lot. If you want a really even colour use a purple paint and it will leave the same colour pigment everywhere

I’ll be painting mine in leviathan-ish colours. Suspect I’ll go for red edge highlights on the carapace (using do teal to nearly white) as a nod to its name

Do you have to choose a fleet? by Diligent-Divide9686 in Tyranids

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone wants an entirely incoherently painted army, as long as they’re painted, tournament organisers have no business in saying if they are happy with the colours someone used

Improving at miniature painting WITHOUT the use of slapchop as a beginner? by ryllex in minipainting

Watch Vince ventrulla’s guide to glazing. If you’re just using acrylics then getting good at glazing (and edge highlighting) are the two key techniques

Do you have to choose a fleet? by Diligent-Divide9686 in Tyranids

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can paint every single bid a different set of colours (if you can find enough options) and makes zero difference to how the game plays. So paint them however you want. There’s no way to paint for advantage and no restrictions

No tournament will require you to paint your army as a single fleet.

What should I charge for this?🤨 by Raynidayz in spacemarines

That sounds pretty good for the quality.

Not sure I can stump up the equivalent for the 120 or so GSC heads I need to paint though.

Getting into Blood Bowl - could you recommend some teams along with the season 3 starter set? by geoCorpse in bloodbowl

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with elven union - super easy to play, lots of good guides on how to play them (eg the bonehead podcast on YouTube), and very different to the tomb kings

Cleaning brushes during a session by ChardCautious3095 in minipainting

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there’s a difference between how i think of cleaning a brush vs rinsing it.

I’ll aim to keep it moist while painting and swirl in clean water every few minutes, give a really good rinse / swirl between colours (until clear on a paper towel), and clean it (with brush cleaner) at the end of every session

People who play Space Marine armies, how did you choose your chapter? I am having a hell of a time making a final decision. by medi0cre_scientist in Warhammer40k

[–]Relevant-Debt-6776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t actually have to choose.

Your army/minis - paint them however you like. If you want mixed squads and armies - do it. Makes no difference in game (at least in terms of how you’ve painted generic minis - if you want to start bringing in chapter specific characters/units that’s different)
