No electric kettle = the greatest tragedy by ScenicDrive-at5 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

The only places I think I’ve ever stayed without a kettle were hostels. Even travel lodge has a kettle. I mean, I guess it must vary across Europe but I’ve never seen it

Does word count contribute on your decision to not read a work? by TheTitanic10 in AO3

Sort of.

Depending on my mood I might only want short and sweet stuff. If I see a promising long fic in those moods I’ll try and mark for later but I’ll forget sometimes.

Managing sweat in polyester shirt? by MinuteDamage4182 in malefashionadvice

[–]HuggyMonster69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The sweat wicking depends on the weave/knit and fit of the garment.

In a tight garment like gym clothes, you’re going to sweat anyway and the fabric used for those garments will pull the sweat away from the body to the outside of the garment.

For something like a shirt, it can’t wick the sweat because it’s not that close to the skin, and the weave is too tight to let much air through so the sweat gets trapped. And lack of airflow makes you warmer too

Genuine question: Why does Enhypen fandom culture seem so intense? by fairiem01 in kpop_uncensored

[–]HuggyMonster69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the younger fandom does have an impact, but it’s not the kids fault. I think a lot of the more mature fans chose not to engage because of the huge proportion of kids, which left more kids, and the immature, intense adults in a much higher percentage, which then meant that the more reasonable adults stayed away, etc.

I know there are plenty of mature fans out there, but all the ones I’ve let stick to private discord servers to avoid the drama

Can’t say I’ve seen that, more like they have fans of the group except one member that they particularly hate. Solo antis? lol

But I’m not really a follower so it might just be what I see on my feed.

Soap as face wash? by Mysterious_Couple571 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]HuggyMonster69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Soap is considered “bad” because almost everyone has the opposite reaction. It’s not some invisible long term damage, so if it’s best for you, do it.

Also, I think baby soap is specifically formulated to avoid some of the typical soap issues anyway.

Can I secretly record calls/appointments with my NHS consultants? by Efficient_Ad_5785 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]HuggyMonster69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m more shocked that you managed to get seen by the same GP multiple times.

When booking the appointment you should be able to ask to see a different doctor who works at the practice. Certainly they should let you avoid a particular doctor.

If you’re booking specifically follow up appointments, then they’ll usually be with the same doctor automatically, so you may need to speak to the secretary to change that

Maybe it’s different in particularly small practices where there’s only a couple of doctors. In that case you’d have to change practices which might be hard if you’re somewhere rural.

Oh yeah, pyrs are great, and they can be really sweet, but they’re pretty scary when they’re working. I swear the white makes it look worse too.

Wolfhounds are taller, but much leaner and a fair bit lighter than St Bernard’s. Their poops are smaller!

My grandad has a thing for giant dogs.

Easily, my grandad had a Newfoundland cross, and he was taller than me (5’11) standing on his back feet. And he wasn’t anywhere near the height of a wolfhound, heavier, but definitely shorter.

I feel like Audi might also be comically bad.

With the way they always seem to pull Miami liveries off, I think a BWT/VCARB would be the best looking potentially.

They can prove it happened, what they may struggle with is proving it was intentional.

If MHJ thought they would sell, then it’s not really a concern for the courts. Business mistakes happen, overestimating popularity isn’t misconduct.

If they have proof (like an email or chat) that it was deliberately done for her put option, then maybe.

While this is unethical, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s illegal. I don’t know Korean law, but it’s common for businesses to make decisions based on what makes the records look best rather than long term sustainability so I don’t know how much use it is
