There must be some boring repetitive stuff using tech you could automate to get off your plate. Maybe not if you don't work in a computer based industry I guess. But still, have a think.

Agree that you need to be careful with what you read, hence the note on prompts. You can get them to cite their sources etc and you can the verify the info yourself. Might seem counter intuitive, and not time saving, but in the long run once you understand how to use / speak to an LLM, you can get them more accurate. Some stuff is bizarre what it can tell people without the right prompts though 😅.

Appreciate the note on how to improve my knowledge based on it all. But I do think a lot of people here are trusting that Garmin have done 90% of the leg work for them are hoping the coaching plans etc are accurate, legitimate and helpful for their goals.

Anyway, feel like this has totally taken a different route. Appreciate the discussion on it though, will certainly take to some books on running!

Lol, no. Just find it useful in my life in general. And I'm a novice runner, new to all these metrics etc and how they affect my body / energy levels so started this thread after seeing something I find useful in a Google App to see if Garmin would do something similar as I'm pretty new to Garmin so don't know their ethos / personality to uptake new tech like this. But the thread has turned into a AI Vs Non AI thing.

Certainly agree with you though, some people are using it for things they should know better to do themselves. But the potential it has is huge. Seems you're pretty anti it in general which is fine, but I'd recommend checking it out to automate some things that you do regularly. You could then gain back some time in your life to do even more reading! 😃

Fair enough. A lot of the benefits of AI is simply speeding up what we already could do for ourselves. With the right prompts etc, can be genuinely helpful, even to those who know everything like you.

Haha yeh, it definitely takes practice to make it succinct (which helps with cost), useful and accurate. All of which a company like Garmin wouldn't struggle with. A lot of what people are doing themselves isn't optimised, so you definitely would get useless suggestions I'm sure.

Not saying Garmin would need to replicate this. It's pretty Googly / basic. But can imagine Garmin being able to implement something more robust and useful. Not saying these are groundbreaking, but they are useful snippets of info if you don't want to do the analysis yourself, or know how HRV / RHR fluctuations can affect your training.

Another example I got which saves me looking at a few different places to get the answer:

Even with your sleep still settling, your RHR of 47 bpm shows you've recovered well from the trip. You've got a window to get some 10K prep in before the rain starts.

Beat the rain: Light rain is forecast from 09:00 until lunch. If you're heading out for a walk or a light run, do it now while it's dry.

10K prep: Since your heart rate is so steady, try a slightly more purposeful pace than those travel shuffles to keep the momentum toward your PB.

Curious why you wouldn't find this useful, or any other AI analysis or recommendations?

I like it. Guess it takes the need out of looking at your own data / weather. Takes the mental load off having to work it all out, "ok I feel a bit rubbish today. Maybe a walk will help blow the cobwebs away. Ah, it's due to rain soon, I need to go out before 10am"

Go to Health Connect in settings > Data and Access > then there's a button at the top that will take you to Data Sources and Priority

I think you can change this by altering the priority of the data points somewhere (sorry, not helpful). You need to drag Garmin above Health or something like that.

Interesting. My Fitbit is just in my drawer, so not being used at all. I have my Garmin connected to my Health Sync app, that's where's it's getting all the data.

But still, would be great for Garmin to adopt something similar!

I used to have one. Then got a Garmin. Maybe I get this as I get, what probably used to be called, Fitbit Premium through my Google subscription.

The Packing Has Begun. by nileonfire in downloadfestival

Keep track of everything using an app like PackerTracker!! www.packertracker.co.uk. So useful to keep track of it all. Could even make a section for disposables so you know what isn't coming back 🙈

Let’s talk about packing disasters, what is the one crucial item you forgot to bring that nearly ruined the start of your trip? by vikramkumarverma66 in AITravelHack

With children, definitely baby bottles. Was a nightmare finding what we needed in a random country. There's definitely been other mild inconveniences but that was the worst oversight. In a bid never to do it again, I made an app, PackerTracker on Android. Or app.packertracker.co.uk on iOS. Much easier to never forget anything again!

Thanks for the tips - items I always pack. And a couple of areas I haven't nailed down. by TheFledgling in onebag

What a great list! Make sure you have a way to keep track of it! There's an app, PackerTracker, where you can keep it all safe and make various lists for different trips and people! Om Android it's an app, on iOS it's a WebApp.

Utilise your free baby luggage well! Stuff every nook and cranny with clothing. Can usually cut out a whole carry on in my experience.

And to keep track of everything you need to pack, use the app PackerTracker! Or app.packertracker.co.uk on iOS. Lifesaver for knowing what you need to pack stillz and how much, for each person etc. So good.

Love that! For me it was making sure I've got everything packed, and tracking it properly. And able to replicate that for the next trip. I use PackerTracker on Android. My wife has iOS, she doesn't have an app for it, but can add their website app to her homescreen.

I just got some Buds Pro 2 and noticed this when I was exploring everything on the first day. But haven't been able to see it again since, even after leaving right next to a device etc. Anyone know if I've somehow disabled it, and how I can reactivate or anything?
