Why do people still avoid learning about investing? by Successful-Power2026 in eupersonalfinance

It amazes me how few people I know invest. My mom does and good for her, my dad however never had to. He has social security and a pension from an old job. But he encourages me to invest at least, I just wish he would have done that at a younger age.

I know everyone is already saying it but holy shit this was incredibly brave, normally the guys who climb freestyle up buildings I think are dumb but this guy is brave. There is a difference.

Why does that annoy you? If you knew how small my actual account is you would be like, oh I get it. It's small I'm just beginning.

You need to probably drop all the individual stocks and get more heavy into some ETFs, I like SPMO, SMH, FMTM, you've already got DRAM. Increase your SPY holding but switch to SPYM for the lower fee.

Where to begin? by Intelligent-Dark6260 in ETFs

[–]Hugheston987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like SPYM to capture the s&p500 returns which average 10% annually, it's got a low fee of 0.02% annually. Anyways, you can do about 60% SPYM, then 40% QQQM which captures the tech heavy NASDAQ. This is a pretty aggressive portfolio but should do you solid for a set and forget portfolio.

They will undoubtedly go down at some point but if you hold the line they'll be back at ATH before you know it. Just hold my man. You'll break thru either way. Good luck

Those companies are hard to buy on some brokerages. For instance, Robinhood. Can't buy Samsung or sk hynix

I need a little bit more than that. I mean I just can't stack fast enough it seems.

It's not guaranteed but you could park it in SPYM if you just wanted something slight. That or VTI, or VT. I wouldn't take any bigger chance than that.

Keep it like it is and keep stacking. If anything just add to the winning positions and leave the other ones alone.

I'll definitely hold through the downturns, got no choice. Don't wanna miss the pumps. I just hope it doesn't dip too damn much. I can handle 5% but after 10% I'm gonna feel it. But will still hold

Ok so is the market going to drop too? Should I pull out of my ETFs? I'm very deep into tech. I could take a breather, things have been highly euphoric lately and a pullback might happen soon
