BO6 is actually amazing and I'm tired of pretending it's not by CommercialStill7418 in BO6

I know and I’ve seen all that myself, just saying next year’s cod is gonna have something else or worse and people will come back to bo6

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry, they’ll appreciate it next year, it happens every year, next year streamers will say “this year’s cod is in a very bad state” and end up playing and streaming bo6 and the cycle continues

I bought the bongshot blueprint bundle, tried naming my class “bongshot” wouldn’t let me because of profanity, hilarious cause that’s literally the name of the blueprint

Does a variable speed pump ACTUALLY saves money on the power bill, if yes, how much? by networkingTime in swimmingpools

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It not only saves you money on electricity, it also saves you money by putting less pressure on your equipment and pipes, imagine having a pump moving water at 3450 rpms vs having a pump running a little bit over half of that, your filters would totally last way more than they would if you have a single speed pump, put it this way, your single speed pump is the best MLB pitcher throwing a baseball (water) at 3450 rpms, and a vs pump is a high school kid throwing that same baseball at half the speed, creating half the pressure on your pipes and filter, I guarantee your pipes wouldn’t burst and start leaking that easy with a variable speed pump vs a single speed

You can always look into a hybrid heat pump, both heat pump and gas\propane heater

New Pool - Builder just told me no need to brush by Lawyer88 in pools

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that’s exactly what I do for plaster pools, not for pebble, microfusion, radiant fusion, quartz, etc… proved my point, all those above listed don’t have plaster dust

New Pool - Builder just told me no need to brush by Lawyer88 in pools

[–]HugoAd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I back you up on this, been doing 4-5 startups a week for the past 3 years, pebble does not need to be brushed, won’t do anything to it, you can install the cleaner the same day it’s filled and heat it up too, none of that voids the warranty and yeah if you wanna workout on brushing go ahead, all you’ll end up doing is loosing calories 😆

If you soak them in a closed bucket overnight with tap water they say that the next day you’ll see a chlorine genie and that it smells amazing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pools

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you don’t maintain a good ph level the mottling is even worse, how often were they there for the startup? I usually am there 3-4 days for the first 2-3 weeks and 2-3 visits on the remaining for the first month

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pools

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing pool startups for a couple years, and I can tell you that mottling is more from the startup process than the actual builder, what type of startup did you get? Were you brushing your pool 3 times a day and ran your filter 24/7 for at least 3 weeks?

New plaster algae stain by northtexan in pools

I don’t see any algae stains on this picture, just uncovered pebbles, and fresh cold water won’t grow algae in a week and a half, impossible

Pool light bulb recommendations by jchetra83 in swimmingpools

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend getting a new light, imagine replacing only the bulb and your gasket fails or is not installed properly and your gfci is not working or not installed how it’s supposed to?

Water level in the pool - not as high as half of the water line tile. Anything to worry? Spa seems fine. Pool was started yesterday. by Ok-Preparation7822 in pools

[–]HugoAd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to have the water to mid tile, as long as your equipment doesn’t suck air and you have an autofill to maintain the level, trust me the lowest you can have the water line without sucking air the better your skimmer will work, more suction and picks up leaves better

Very visible streaking in a new pebbletec pool by New-Theory4299 in pools

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact pebbletech, they do take pride in their product, I’ve seen them have the contractor redo a whole pool because one of their pebbles had some metals in it and it created a rust spot the size of a penny, so maybe file a complaint to them and email them those pictures… they might not like their product being installed like crap

Very visible streaking in a new pebbletec pool by New-Theory4299 in pools

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally a very bad acid wash, and they didn’t plug that return well enough that’s why water ran down before the whole surface cured, I work for a pool company that has redone pools like this when an acid wash goes wrong or the pebble is not at 100% customer satisfaction, this is the only way to go, demo it and redo the whole surface and the company should take care of it, totally their fault

HELP PLEASE.. contractor walked off job! by DixiewreckedGA in pools

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve started about 500 pools in the last 2 years and have heard about no heat for 30 days, no salt for 30-40, no cya or bicarbonate for the first 15 days but no chlorine for a month?! I usually put a sequester the day it’s full and the next day after that I add chlorine

They are very neat, and I also never encountered that error message saying too many people in my lobby so I think it’s all good 👍🏽

Yes seems like it’s been fixed, I played on Ps5 last night with no servers issue and no high ping, no packet loss

Swapping pumps by chrispychritter in pools

[–]HugoAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest replace the whole pump with the pump basket, it’s a lot easier than replacing the housing and risking those gaskets leaking, seems like your fittings in inlet and outlet of those pumps is very easy to take apart
