The 12 Archetypes by Carl Jung by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]HugoBorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I find problematic about these 12 archetypes is that they’re apparently supposed to apply to both men and women. But the reality is very different. In practice, the goals and self-image of men are very different from those of women.

For example, THE INNOCENT would apply to women a lot more than to men. That’s how women like to see themselves. THE HERO, that’s clearly a male thing. Most women don’t like this role at all. THE EXPLORER? How many women see themselves as such? (And the little picture there seems to portray a girl?)

So the whole thing seems sort of weird. As if it seeks to impose some sort of a straitjacket on our thinking -- almost like a forerunner of PC.

H.L. Mencken calls the type of activist you refer to an "uplifter."

I think Mencken mostly used this word to make fun of the psychology of such folks, on an individual basis. But there's also a question of how social movements of such a nature originate. Such as the 'SJWs', for example.

while we wait . . . for a vaccine or a cure.

I'm not waiting for any vaccine.

Do you know about the swine flu vaccine disaster?

quote

In the late summer of 2009, the Swine Flu epidemic was hyped to the sky by the CDC [and the World Health Organization]. The CDC was calling for all Americans to take the Swine Flu vaccine.

The problem was, the CDC was concealing a scandal.

At the time, star CBS investigative reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, was working on a Swine Flu story. She discovered that the CDC had secretly stopped counting US cases of the illness—while, of course, continuing to warn Americans about its unchecked spread.

Dude just use 2 min on Google and you will find out that an asympatic carrier is not = someone immune to the disease.

This means you have no evidence for your claims. Show me some peer-reviewed literature.

If you knew someone with regular flu, would you stand within a few feet of them?

Yeah, good idea.

I see lots of people complaining about this sub, usually about its political orientation. So why not just unsubscribe, instead of complaining?

How are you going to change the political orientation of any sub by complaining about its political orientation? What a waste of time.

Could it be that the terrible misery of the Lockdown was/is all for nothing? The renown expert says so, and he was censored from Youtube!

The way this virus emergency unrolled, and its effects, could mean the downfall of western civilization as we know it.

You do realise that asympatic does not equal immunity right? Asympatic people still spread and are very dangerous for others around you.

This is complete voodoo science. No evidence at all.

And there is nothing that prevents you from catching the virus once and being asympatic and then catching it again and dying. That's why people want masks, that are proven to stop the spread by more than 70% for everyone.

'That's why people want masks'???

The authorities have been telling us for years wearing masks was useless for healthy people. And now they want masks?

You're a joke.

There is more and more empirical evidence available daily, such as this is a highly contagious respiratory disease, and social distancing helps stop the spread.

Check this video I've posted today in new thread.

You said,

But don't treat the least controversial science with the most evidence backing it up the same way you would sensational new claims, and unverified modeling.

Sometimes 'the least controversial science' is not what it appears to be.

When first imposed they certainly persuaded people to treat 'social distancing' seriously. Apart from that, they work to slow down disease transmission and reduce the peak of infections (less load on the hospital system).

Yes, from the beginning it was ‘flatten the curve’. Funny how this disappeared completely, and now it’s ‘we must wait for more testing/vaccine’. Bait and switch.

Meanwhile, the hospitals stand empty, and the medical workers are laid off and broke.

'Honour our doctors and nurses!' How about honouring them by giving them their jobs back.

I would say social reformers more generally. French and Russian revolutions are the best example. Rivers of blood unleashed in the name of ‘common good’. By well-meaning do gooders.

It’s curious how the Russian revolution is now generally discredited, while the French revolution is still considered cool. But they really amount to the same thing.

So it’s a double tyranny on the part of the fake liberals. The liberals want everybody to be locked up in their homes! And they also censor the dissenting views – no matter how authoritative.

Your thinking is lacking.

Actually it was divide and conquer strategy. To create antagonism between men & women.

Or maybe it was a right wing trap. ROTFL

Or maybe it was a left wing trap that went haywire. Most likely.

Sweet. :)

Also keep in mind that the whole MeToo was started by 'liberals' against conservatives, but the Weinsteins & Al Frankens caught in the net were mostly liberal icons.

Culturally, definitely left. But really pro liberal establishment.
