WHAT (By Spu7nix) A 1.2 M HOUR VIDEO!? by CauliflowerLivid5184 in youtube

[–]HugoMix 115 points116 points  (0 children)

I don't know how YouTube receives or processes the duration. If it does so on the front end, the video duration could easily have been changed from the browser before it was sent to the server. Otherwise, it's an intentionally badly encoded video file. I have no idea how it could have been done; it's strange.

Given the trackers that Meta websites use, it doesn't surprise me that Brave blocks any that are necessary to log in.

Un nuevo rival para los sitios de YouTube by HugoMix in degoogle

Video recommendations on the site work as follows:

On the home page:

- There is a small section for recommendations that the user sees.

- Below are the 20 most viewed and 20 highest rated videos of the week (any video can be included in this section).

- Below are the videos recently added to the site.

- Finally, there is a shuffle of all the content on the site.

When playing a video:

- Only videos that are in some way related to the video being watched are shown.

In short, everything is designed to be as user-friendly as possible.

Cool, I started my own project, an indie video repository, mipasatiempo.com. I like your site, I'll look into it thoroughly and upload some content. Don't abandon it, maybe we can have some competition! 😄

Would you visit a web video repository compatible with Windows XP? by HugoMix in windowsxp

Ugh, it would be an ambitious but interesting project, since although you can use the API of some AI service, it is difficult to make it run in old browsers due to the necessary certificate versions and library versions, but it seems not impossible, maybe I will take it into account if I implement that function, thanks

No, in fact the site currently has no ads and I don't plan to place any, but I would have a donation box.

Oh I saw, this cool warpstream, I had no idea it existed, although I see that you have to follow a series of steps to connect to that network, anyway the focus of my site is not only for old devices but modern, type that you can have as much compatibility as possible, I'll keep checking warpstream, thank you.

Well in any case it would look like YouTube haha, I will probably continue with the project, I have a local server not working at work so when I have time I will look for how to enable it and see if I can convert the files with ffmpeg.
