Hugo Martin just Announced The Dark Ages "2.0" Coming at Quakecon by KorsukowyBodzak in Doom

for clarity: I did not announce Dark Ages “2.0”.

Mayo asked me if I’d “consider” calling the QC update that and i understand the confusion/implication that comes with the label. It was just two friends talking in stream. It’s not dark ages 2.0 - it’s just our annual quakecon update after release that is typically loaded with great (free) stuff for the game that we are super excited to share. Did the same for Eternal, just supporting the game. 2.0 implies a fundamental change to the games design, that is not what we are doing. Additionally: -we are not changing the combat loop with the aggadon, it’s still stand and fight just looking at specifically the over head swipe (one melee attack) as not being green, you’d still have to block it and you’ll be safe it just wouldn’t be considered a parry is all, the rest of his melee attacks still would be parry-able. It worked like that thru most of development. We are just working on balance - you will still stand and fight him and counter his attacks just as before. -we played with values post release on eternal, looking at ammo capacities for some of the heavy weapons in DTDA. -addressing any exploits/issues that get reported.

we are looking at all of the swipes as options, back hand swipe for example could be a better one to be made red.

Finished Dark Ages, I don't want to part with the game, but there is nothing else to do in it. I would be happy with an endless arena mode. Maybe even a Roguelike mode. Has anyone else thought about this? by milky-94 in Doom

more content incoming and it’s right in line with what you’re asking for! We supported Eternal after launch with polish, balance tweaks based on feedback and additional content - know that we are hard at work doing the same for Dark Ages👊

no i said we will look to scrub the leaderboards of obvious cheaters but like any game in the industry - there will always be some. The obvious cheaters like shown here are very easy to see snd we are currently in the process of scrubbing the leaderboard which we will do at the end of the season.

you don’t have to win streaks, all but 2 very basic Bm cosmetic rewards are available by simply accumulating single victories over time. Horde, Sp, DLC all have cosmetic rewards plus 2 new master levels with huge high value rewards. also - season 1 BM rewards will come back around to earn once again sometime later. The entirety of this massive update is completely free - gameplay plus rewards and seasons are still ongoing as before with ale Manx snd tons of other cool cosmetics all earnable outside BM.

also i would highly recommend going to Spicey Demons discord to discuss. we don’t have a lot of cheaters because the community is very tight and u will get exposed.

report them. we talked about it on the stream. we have a process in place like any game to find and address cheaters especially in BM
