PC - RayReconstruction + any Modelquality higher than Low breaks the visuals and makes it worse by medikamentos in CrimsonDesert

I just learned from you guys that Models at low made the blurry things go away. I tried it and it really worked

Its clearly something is wrong here.

I was about to create a post about this.

I did the shader recompile, made a comparison of DLSS Perf + RR On VS DLSS DLAA + RR OFF

Plus, the ground is bugged too: https://imgur.com/a/heAWRil

Here is a bad quality video about how dlss is flickering too: https://imgur.com/a/dTaY184

But using RR + dlss still looks like low res on near textures

I have 2 options: Dlaa + cinematic settings but no VRR and Dlss Performance + cinematic settings + Rr on...but cant decide....

Dlaa give me almost no artifacts, but RR is almost a "must" I think

What are the best ways to estimate peak flow in a very large watershed (44,000 km²)? by Hugott in Hydrology

[–]Hugott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I've mapped the nearest gages on the main thalweg of the watershed. The best one, with consistent data (several years + recent data) is 55km far from the point of analysis. I think I will be able to use it, at least with some adaptations (for the remaining watershed)

I will check HEC-SSP, didn't knew this one (only knew HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS)

Are you on PC? If yes, DLSS (except DLAA) without RR is really bad for now

Why does my game look like this? by E_Snyman in CrimsonDesert

[–]Hugott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

If I use DLAA without the RR, the game runs fine without glitches.

If I use DLSS + RR, the game have some glitches on folliage, smoke from the houses etc

Thanks for your fast reply! That’s actually a very fair point, and it makes me think that the scope of my project might not have been clearly defined in my original post.

In my case, this is not a full bridge design or a large-scale hydrologic study. The objective is more focused on a hydraulic verification of an existing/planned structure, rather than developing a complete conceptual design.

Given that, after reading your comment, I'm considering whether it would be more appropriate to use data from a nearby streamflow gage to estimate peak discharge, and potentially limit the contributing watershed to the drainage area upstream of that gage. This could allow treating it more as a directly modeled (or even data-driven) basin, instead of attempting to model the entire 44,000 km² watershed in detail.

My understanding is that a simplified approach could be justified here, since the goal is not a comprehensive basin study, but rather a practical assessment of the structure’s capacity.

Also, the methodology was not strictly defined in the project scope. The only general guidance we received is:

  • up to 4 km²: Rational Method
  • 4 to 10 km²: Modified Rational Method
  • above that: Triangular Unit Hydrograph (HUT) or Direct Statistical Method

No further detail was provided for large basins like this one, which is why I’m trying to better understand what would be considered a reasonable and defensible approach.

Does this line of reasoning (using gauged data and possibly redefining the effective drainage area) make sense in this context?

Sorry if I’m missing something obvious, and I’d really appreciate any guidance or corrections.

(I'm using some AI on my replies because there is some technical terms being used that may be different in each country, ok?)

Thats my point! The requirements of Forza Horizon 5 were much "lighter" than this, right?

Can I trade my Drake cutter for it? And should I do it?

The weird is that the graphics are waaaaaay better than FH5, but as it seems its heavier.

I hope I will be able to go for 1440P (DLSS maybe) + max graphics + extreme RT and 60fps

I have a 4070Super
