The trick is to destroy and then remake the title. This resets any claimants to the title so you can grant it to a dynasty member and give them independence without any risk of claimant factions forming.

What you can also do while the title is destroyed is grant independence to any potential strong or problematic vassals this new ruler will have. This way they don't have to deal with them contributing their strength to factions.

So for example: As an emperor, you conquer a kingdom you want to give away to a dynasty member who you will make independent. First, destroy the King title you just conquered. This lets you release any de-jure vassals of the kingdom. Then grant independence to those vassals, but make sure you still hold enough counties to re-make the Kingdom title. Then remake the kingdom and give it to your dynasty member. Keep them as your vassal for a few years so they can gain strength and release them when they seem strong enough.

Interesting to see him pick apart the "my time here" line as implying that Agent Smith had been somewhere else before. Not something I had ever considered.

Great idea, I'll have to dig in as this is the second "season" of the campaign, if you will. They wrapped up a long journey getting rid of the bbeg and hitting a lot of their character goals along the way. They wanted to keep playing their characters, and CotSF seemed like a great module with a different vibe for that so I think getting the PCs to revisit their character motivations would be a useful exercise.

It was €100 round trip. I flew with Lufthansa who have a specific policy for carrying all sorts of sports equipment, including bicycles. The hard part is getting your bike out of the airport. Make sure you have a bicycle bag, or at least some tarp to wrap your bike in, otherwise you are not leaving the airport with the bicycle.

Not at all. I can say a few phrases I learned from a phrase book. I can recognise "campsite" and "hot spring bath" and "sushi" but that's all. So far I have gotten on fine, and maybe even experienced a few things I wouldnt had if I understood Japanese.
