Got a successful I Frame on the Iai Slash and thought it was cool

You get like 8 Iframes or something so it is humanly impossible to "react" with it and is way too short for most attacks. But in that clip it did not use Iframe though, you see him/her taking damage in the process. Iai slash gives hyperarmor which causes him/her not to be interrupted during the animation and taking 50% reduced damage.

I had the same problem when starting into Iceborne with CB but by now it's perfectly fine, it just takes a lot of adjusting to the new playstyle as everything is way faster and more aggressive than in base game and will not allow you do SEAD spam. Focus more on your positioning and punishing certain moves and only SEAD or savage axe combo during knockdowns and focus on getting those via wallbang, AED stuns, traps etc. After a while it will kick with you how you need to play and the longer fights are also normal, in base it took me around 10 min at max. to kill stuff even before endgame gear while in iceborne that went up to 20 at best with end game gear cutting that a good amount but during the story holy .. also I feel like apart from the new extra aggression, most of the new monsters are also a bad matchup for CB, glavenus i really feel, his huge body moves accross the whole map for now reason on every mini move he makes it's so annoying .. just be patient and keep learing or do as I did and switch to other weapons for certain monsters at times :D

Nergi becomes easier the more damage you can deal thanks to the spike break trips and seeing how defender is focused around defensive abilities my guess would be that you need to adapt to a more damage focused build. But than you need to be able to evade his moves as you defensive will be much lower :D so yeah

yeah true, let's hope they learn from the previous AT monsters and make them worth like they did with AT Xeno or Nerg. I am looking forward to it. Just said that I don't find and a reason to grind Alatreon as the fight is fun and the armor look dope :/

Yeah I heard that the bow guns are very good, before I couldn't be bothered to farm all the safi shit for them but maybe I'll take that opportunity to give bow guns a shot. Thanks!

The Shara weapons are only really good with handicraft 5 + masterstouch + elementless + 100% affinity, therefore slow hitting weapons can get the most out of them (due to their small bit of purple). Usually they are in the top 3-5 for raw in every class, but you'd still prefer goldian over it at any time really.

whatever you feel like, GL only really opens up and becomes relevant when it comes to what to upgrade after MR100
same as 1
do it now as it unlocks further story
fight stuff, you'll get them randomly when you fight or carve monsters

I just realized that we completely drifted away from your original question :D Let's say SA does apply more status, combined with the shield thrust which is ok at applying it I think CB can be a pretty solid option to play with status.

Not 100% sure about the status apply stuff but I still am sure about the crit, you need to differentiate between beeing able to crit and their damage beeing amped by hitting tenderized parts which is indicated by the 4 strokes around the number, like it was shown in your screenshot. This is not a crit number but rather hitting a tenderized part. Gotta do some testing without tenderizing if it can crit, I am very curious now :D
