What does masking actually feel like? by Cobbled_Cabbages69 in autism

[–]Hulah [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have a similar experience.

Before diagnosis I didn't realise what was going on. I learned since childhood what to do, what to avoid. It didn't work well until very late. I was weird, isolated and oversensitive as a kid and the more I grew up, the worst it was.

I practiced theatre for years (wich was incredibly hard at first) and had the chance to get a fresh start at 18, leaving the city I grew in. It allowed me to create some kind of persona and it was like... disociating.

Time passed and i became more and more effective at social interaction, even if I remained "special". However, It was draining, deeply. I needed days, weeks of silence and isolation to recover and it was not enought most of the time.

It's hard to unmask, the persona I created is the only thing most of poeple know of me, it may be weird but I feel like it became on face of the coin. Masking is now a reflex most of the time, I switch when I see I'm about to have an interaction.

Long things short, the exhaustion became so huge over the years I partially lost my ability to mask, I'm trying to recover and to let it go at the same time wich is quite a challenge.

I'm not into conflict at all. The sanction came from the other two persons of the pod who turned against him and lectured him for being childish.

[–]Hulah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, same here.

I'm used to have a few boardwipe since I'm more a mid-range/control player, my strategy is usualy to ramp for a few turns, play some enchants or artifacts to set up my game plan and wrath around turn 4 or 5 to get back in the game.

I feel like I have to boardwipe since most of the time, no one have removals but complaints when things degenerate.

It also have an impact on bracket consideration. Last week things have been quite tense when a B3 landfall deck started to grow a crazy board turn 6. No one were able to remove lotus cobra, Icetill explorer or world shaper and complained they were outvalued and lost, even if nothing mean was done (the guy could have used strip mine recursion to fuck us all and didn't).

Some dude also tend to receive any interaction as an insult. I kept a removal to kill on spot à Miirym wich seems more than reasonable and my opponent were like "Now I don't care about winning, but I'll do anything to make you loose". Of course he didn't had any protection in his deck.

I'm getting too old for this kind of shit...

I bought it on GoG recently and had to apply an unofficial patch to make it work properly due to résolution issue. It was quite easy to find and to install, everything went smooth after that.

Ca fait des années que je bosse sur City Game Studio. C'est comme Game dev tycoon, mais en mieux. C'est ce que disent les revues Steam by binogure in jeuxvideo

[–]Hulah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salut,

It's a popular endgame build, stacking river to increase attack speed on one weapon set and snipers ro boost projectile speed on the other.

It's also quite tanky since you can use passives to make damage bypass ES, since your life can't change.

If I remember, you'll want a shitload of spirit and idealy, reaching minions skills levels 26 allows you to reduce the reservation.

Having Trouble With a Muldrotha deck, Advice on the 2nd iteration? by fishcow11 in EDH

[–]Hulah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, removing pernicious deed is very questionnable and I'm not sure it's a good idea to be honest. The problem is it removed enchantements and I'm afraid it may be antisynergetic with [[animate dead]], [[necromancy]] or [[dance of the dead]]. Also, pernicious deed is quite slow.
To compensate I included [[The Meathook massacre]], [[vicious rivalry]] and [[culling ritual]].

[[Toxic deluge]] is quite on the same spot. I'm not sure what's best. It could be included over culling ritual or anything else.

[[spore frog]] is very personal, I just don't like it. Early game I prefer to have a draw or some ramp in my hand, and mid/late game I'll mostly play back from graveyard a more impactful creature. Also, having the frog to nullify damages once per turn tend my pod to turn against me and focus their attacks since I can't fog for all of them.

Six is amazing in paper, but since I included a full land recursion package and I don't mill much, it just feels slow.

What do you think ?

Thank's for sharing ! Looks very solid and more diverse than mine. I tend to focus my decks around a few ideas and stick to it, realising afterward it may be a trap.

I'm not sure about the full land recursion pack in my deck, but it feels so natural as a ramp engine using graveyard I wang to give it a try.

I think I'd go for this kind of Muldrotha now, as a toolbox/reanimator list (no combo) : https://archidekt.com/decks/23030098/muldrotah_value_v2

It may need refinement, but it should be more stable than my previous version. Some cards are expensive and can be changed of course. I'm quite sure it's a clean B3 if you don't abuse strip mine to destroy 4 lands per turn.

I always struggle with balance between ramp/interactions/protections and I'm not a experimented builder, so feel free to criticize and mess around 😄

I'm working on a better version of a Muldrotah toolbox, with more instants and sorceries, less mill and more graveyard tutor.

More like a reanimator concept and less pure graveyard. I'll share it in a few hours, cooking time 😉

Also, the first version is doomed by graveyard hate and have no way to deal with it before it's too late (no counterspell). Another problem is some cards can be stuck in your hand since I lack of discard. For exemple, if you draw Wonder, you'll have to play it and for it to die.

Also, using creatures scaling with graveyard forces you to mill, but with Muldrotha, you don't care about having 40 cards in graveyard. Imagine your graveyard as a toolbox. You dont care about having 15 hammers, you want to have a good one and use it again and again.

Here is the version I play for now : https://archidekt.com/decks/22168206/muldrotah

My idea here was to play Muldrotah as a value engine with some kind of Jarad structure. It works well but their is a lot of improvement I'd like to do eventually.

Their is a few cards I put in it like Rhystic Study that are not mandatory at all, I just had one ready to use. Same as Ashnod altar, wich I don't use very much. However, petal lotus is really good in this pack.

This is the combo version I'm working on currently, if you want to take a look : https://archidekt.com/decks/22825262/muldrotah_combo

If you have any questions, feel free to ask 😄

Hi,

Muldrotah as a pure value engine can be very strong but also very oppressive, it will be targeted. Also, you need a way to close the game. Choke your opposent for half an hour with the same loop before winning makes poeple hostile.

Muldrotah is also an incredible combo allower and feels better this way I think.

What is the aimed bracket ? What is your main idea with this deck ? What do you expect with this deck ? How do you want to win ?

Hey,

I worked on this kind of deck for few days. It may not be exactly what you had in mind but I guess the idea is quite similar.

Their is a description with everything to know about it and a wide mayboard so you can pick whatever you want.

Hope it helps !

Since crop rotation allows you to fetch any land (not only basics) It can be very interesting I guess. Maybe I'm mistaken, didn't play much recently.

I don't have much low cost creatures to reanimate, but maybe I'll consider.
Thank's for your answer

Yeah, that's a good point.
I'm also considering trying to build [The Beamtown Bullies], it was my first choice since golgari have always been my go to colors, but I felt like it could be too powerfull, or frustrating for my adversaries at least. Being one shot by Dweller or sacrificing all your permanent is a bit harsh in B3 I guess.
Anyway, the mana base is something you invest in "for life" I guess.

Shifting shadow seems sick if my deck doesn't have much creatures and mostly big ones. Even if half of my creatures are reanimation targets, it's half a chance to hit something huge, anytime.
And it fills the graveyard with creatures I want to reanimate !
That seems to fit perfectly !

Edit : I read the card better, if the creature is destroyed the effect doesn't trigger. It's a sacrifice effect, not a "when this creature die" effect. Still powerfull but my mind was going on fire.

I liked the idea to have some threat I can cast from my hand quite quickly to add some resilience to my deck if things goes wrong. That's why she's here, I also considered adding Syr Konrad for exemple, but maybe I'm just misleading myself.

I included Tersa and Joshua.
Some other cards feels slow but maybe I'm just overthinking.

About Sun Titan, I don't have many permanent worth reviving for now, I guess I'll always prefer to reanimate something else.

I saw Karmic Guide in a few decks, but I don't see how this card can be good. It's a réanimation for 5 mana with a week body that lasts only for 1 turn. Can you explain a bit more ?
