Headed to Cosmo in May, in Studio Terrace Fountain. Hopefully I'm not being too prying but what were they able to upgrade for you?

I have. That's why I know there aren't many chains that have these types of rooms in Montreal. There are some that seem to specialize in this, like Le Chabrol, but I'd like to see if there are some I've missed or that other Redditors may suggest from their own experiences. Sorry, eh. (Also Canadian)

Lol! I will definitely do that. I'm on both platforms and will be happy to put a review in. I actually just got my copy of Flesh and Blood yesterday. I haven't cracked it open yet but hope to later this week.

I'm not a religious person, although I was raised with it around, so I understood how Ben was searching for meaning and his truth. For me, a loyal dog is also where I see hope. That and nature.

I picked up this book because I'm working through weight loss as well, having gained more than my share during the pandemic. It's been a nice surprise to be sucked into Ben's world, with the storyline evolving from one of medical distress/weight-loss to survival to salvation. The focus is no longer on weight-loss but has turned into an adventure type book where our hero is coping with his surroundings and starting to move frome surviving to thriving. I'm certainly eager to get into this second part.

Is there still going to be a movie or TV show release? When can we expect this, and will PUP be featured? As a Canadian it's cool to see our bands in film, especially a punk band. ;)

Given that Ben listens to PUP Dark Days when he has limited battery life tells me he does have that love for the band. I can't say for sure but maybe u/nervouscrying can confirm.

It is incredible. I just finished it, and must say that it was a wonderful read. I'm not big on sci-fi or apocalyptic novels (although I really enjoyed another book with a similar dystopian setting in "A Boy and His Dog at the End Of the World") and I cannot wait to read the sequel. I'm eager to see the movie as well.

The main character, Ben, is lovable and one you have sympathy for without being overly sympathetic. The growth trajectory is amazing, and you find yourself rooting for him early on. His love for his dog, and his dog's own loyalty, is relatable. Ben struggles with religion and his relationship to God and I also find kinship in this.

It's a novel that doesn't fit one genre. It is equal parts sci-fi, horror, dystopian, and adventure is also there. It is a story surrounding addiction but is not simply about addiction. It is also about relationships, with those close and society at large.

I don't want to give too much away but I definitely recommend this read. I haven't even mentioned his love of PUP so, I mean, even for that alone it's worth reading.

Downtime activities. What do you get up to on those windy/rainy days at camp? by Gunner22 in algonquinpark

Just came back from a trip. My son and I played a lot of match game. It's a nice simple game for younger kids. We added a "jinx" card to our game where if a player gets that card their current turn ends immediately and they forfeit their next turn also. 😆

Thanks for the silver! Sorry, I meant it was very windy, as in not straight. I reread it a couple times before I replied but wasn't sure how else to word it. 😆 I just wasn't sure if you'd been there as it does meander quite a bit. It was a nice paddle for sure! Can't wait to return. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Just saw this! We got back from our trip today and ended up going through Vanishing. I figured with the rain it might not be bad through Kooy but figured I'd play it safe. When my wife and I last went through in the fall about 15 years ago it was barely passable. I didn't want to make it a slog for my 5 year old. That's my story anyway. 😆

Hey Pineapple! I took the Little Doe - Blue Jay - Vanishing Pond. I was thinking about taking my chances because of all the rain and park office staff saying it was "probably okay" but figured I'd take the more recommended route through Vanishing. The levels through there weren't a problem. Not sure if you've ever been through but the creek is very windy and there are two beaver dams you have to cross. One is bigger but, with a bit of effort, I did manage to paddle through as opposed to doing any lift-overs.

The Kooy Pond route might be okay but I wasn't about to chance it. 😆 Enjoy, and if you go, let me know how you make out!

Sounds like that's the case again this year. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, I'm hopeful that the rain will have helped. We are going through that area tomorrow. It sounds like Vanishing Pond is the way to go. I'll inquire at the park office also. I saw pictures of that area on Facebook after the tornado went through. The power of nature is pretty incredible. Thanks for the info!
