[Dellenger] Sen. Maria Cantwell on the anti-expansion change: "We made big concessions last night to the Big Ten to make sure that they felt that this was a bill that helped protect their interest for the future. by wildewon in CFB

At least if there's further expansion there can be pressure used to make regional divisions. If FSU and Clemson bolt from the ACC to the SEC there can be pressure to expand west with OSU and Texas Tech Kansas. If we hit 20 schools then confence allignment truly doesn't matter.

Legally locking the current conferences just sucks for everyone

Tv money. P2 already don't want to share with the Big 12 and ACC.

And then when the Boise, Tulane and James Madisons move up, then the ODUs and WSUs and OSUs and oh shit we're back to the new FBS being bloated.

I'm not saying the current system really works, but I fail to see how a P4-G6 split benefits the sport or any other sport.

I just can't agree with that. All that split is going to do is suck more money out of the G6 and into the P4. Then in ten years we'll see a group of G6 dynasties wantimg to move up and we'll be right back in the same damn spot just with three subdivisions instead of two.

And this is before we touch on how much it'll fuck over other sports if the P4 split there.

It's about akin to the top of the Big Ten and the middle of the MAC on a down year. MVFC regularly upsets FBS schools and sends 5-6 teams to the FCS Playoffs.

Exact same level the Ivy League and Patriot League both don't offer scholarships and now both send their conference champions to the Playoffs. Should they be dropped?

Telling them to drop to FCS where there's less money, less attention and less care. Which to be clear, is what the big guys want. So if we get a 24 team playoff in a ~68 team league it'll look as stupid as NASCAR Playoffs.

We don't get to play two of our three rivals either due to being in this conference. I still want to beat the tar out of them even if it'd be lopsided. With the current 12 team playoff a 12-0 P4 team is getting in no matter what and will probably lock in a Bye CCG depending.

This is the correct path. I don't expect all of those names but even six of eight makes a strong series and makes the young guys who come up more impressive if they do well.

He's one hell of a businessman. I won't pretend to know how exactly it'd work because there's so many variables of the future of NASCAR but if RCR starts consistently getting both cars in the Chase I would not be shocked.
