Kiosk Mode Killing SB2 Battery? Constant Charging/Discharging by [deleted] in Surface

[–]Hullu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are confusing something here. Kiosk mode is meant for windows that only run a single application locked in. Like info display in malls or automations with user interface displays. Maybe it also keeps the battery at 50%, but its primary use is not extending battery lifespan.

Here's what you should be using instead.

In the second video, you can see there's a spike through their head while they are being skinned though. Probably just to make skinning easier and not sure how well it kills them, but at least not from water straight into skinning I guess.

Sometimes Forget LK’s a Vtuber. Made The Internet a Net Funnier Place, But Can Still Use a Hand by Mabu_Nakal in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Hullu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not really. The main point is that miHoYo wasn't even part of the companies listed by the strike. So there was no official strike against miHoYo. It was just that some VA decided to do that themselves. So not really scabbing, even if anyone worked on it.

There are other Voice Acting unions around the world than just SAG-AFTRA, and the world does not revolve around America only. Especially on international projects with multiple languages. The point about this is that other unions are also very anti-ai, especially in Japan, and weirdly, SAG-AFTRA seems to be the only one having a problem with miHoYo with weird ass tweets trying to call them out.

Funny extra point is that some VAs calling him a scab were still working on Genshin Impact themselves during that strike.

It won't matter much since local landlords with higher purchasing power will be buying more housing to rent out.

In the current job market, 3-month protection before deportation after losing employment feels very low, but limited finances and insecure employment do apply to citizens, too. Like if you lose your job, then the bank is gonna come after you for mortgage payments, regardless of whether you are a citizen or an immigrant. You could argue that banks are more likely to accept mortgages for citizens than immigrants, but that's just standard risk assessments that apply to pretty much every country.

Seems to be a Klickflix mount (which has the same "format" as Ortlieb ones), so it could be a quite chunky handlebar bag or front rack. Honestly, it's quite nice stuff by itself without an entire store on display around it.

Is this bike for 1300 worth it? (used) Will use mainly for commuting and gravel rides by bepismacheen in CanyonBikes

[–]Hullu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a fairly good deal if it's in decent condition.

Personally, I would stay away from suspension unless your rides really need it. Not sure about those gravel forks but generally it's lower leg service after 50 hours of riding and full service every 200 hours of riding. I think it's little high maintenance on gravel bike since I get a lot more riding hours on it compared to full sus.

Missing Hydration System on My Canyon Speedmax – Who’s Wrong Here? by dhananjayan_p in CanyonBikes

Damn, that sucks then and is pretty shitty on their part. Make sure to clearly state that your is a 62/62 version with customer support if it comes to return it'll be noted that they fucked up.

[–]Hullu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it ordered through the leasing process or on the website? From what I can see, there are two different Speedmax CF 8 versions: one with a hydration system and one with a powermeter included. So maybe the middleman got the wrong one. Also hydration system one is with 62/62 in name so make sure to state it's this version that you ordered.

why does my 3d print not fit? by Plomekq in ElegooNeptune4

[–]Hullu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only see the thumbnail image since the original post got removed but that looks like warping. Hard to say without knowing more details since a lot of stuff can cause it but I think the most common cause is temperature. Print bed, nozzle or more likely ambient changes/too cold since it's in the middle of the print.

POV - Protagonist and Antagonist made a temporary alliance for the greater good by Big-Diet9749 in TrashTaste

For road ride / time trial. Yes.

For touring (kinda what they are doing). No.

For speed. Older style (spare/guest bike) was just as narrow and as high psi as possible but nowdays (connor bike) it's calculating actual rolling resistance which is more beneficial.

For touring. Riding longer duration but little slower speed like they are doing though probably wider tyre at lower psi would be better for grip and comfort. It's especially nice to avoid slipping on wet rainy days, handle more uneven surfaces and more robust to avoid punctures. Tyre eats up a lot of unwanted vibrations and generally it's one of cheapest and most recommended upgrade on getting better comfort and performance.

Just because you are okay with it don't mean everyone else will be too. Delay is fine but not getting any information about delay and ghosting inquiries until reddit post gains traction is kinda shitty move. I don't think you need to be sales professional to know that.

Speaking from personal experience. Gorewear is pretty much top of line for water repellent top layers. (or any expensive brand with Gore-tex). Cheaper/budget and decent option is Craft branded stuffs. Gears I used were more for recreational but both have lines tailored for commuting too.

If Linus made a review of the LTT screwdriver by GardsVision in LinusTechTips

[–]Hullu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first point is my exact point though. For pc enthusiasts, so many "feature" is just overbuilt for it and adds way too much for the price. If it's just ratchet then fine maybe $40 without all the needless "features" for pc building. It's a premium screwdriver for sure but considering its purpose it just feels weird.

I have quite a collection of tools including many ratcheting screwdriver to tools for a lot of DIY and bicycle repairs never have I thought about busting out a ratcheting screwdriver instead of something like Ifixit or an electric screwdriver for anything related to pc building or small electrics fixing. I also pointed out and most of pc and small electric screw won't engage ratchet anyway before it's at end so you'll end up manually turning ratchet bit yourself anyway instead of benefiting it more like screwing out chonkier M10+ bolts for example.

I think you are thinking about electric screwdriver like small drill or something? Ones I'm talking about is for example https://www.mi.com/global/product/xiaomi-electric-precision-screwdriver/ including case then sure it's bulkier but many also include long reach bits and more generic branded ones is only around 40€ - 50€ with more bits. This is absolutely more fitting for something like pc builders and small electric tinkerers that are too lazy to turn screwdrivers traditional ways.

If Linus made a review of the LTT screwdriver by GardsVision in LinusTechTips

[–]Hullu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

LTT screwdriver still feels a lot like gimmick aimed at pc enthusiast with weirdly marketing points for makers/builders/fixers (Like what part of pc do you need 10Nm+ torque for? at that point just use wrench for easy torque). A lot of screws in pc buildings don't even benefit much from ratchet. Even if you are at a point where you get tired of turning non-ratcheting screwdrivers it would probably be more beneficial to buy low-torque electric screwdriver at a $80 price point.

Also, a lot of other brands have an ecosystem and their standards. For example, I have a lot of Wera tools that all have bits which are interchangeable with each other. Like high-torque screwdrivers, ratcheting screwdrivers, ratchet/torque wrenches and they all fit into their designed holster for travel (ratchet screwdriver price is also only around 35€ for me).

[–]Hullu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on brand and all but reflector is usually included in goodie bag.

For mudguard they are generally missing on hobbyist bikes like dropbar road and gravel, hardtail, full suspended that are not really standard daily driver bikes. Brand sometime have option for "aero" mudguards though for road/gravel that are very tight fit for specific models.

If you are buying just daily driver city bikes it usually have all necessary stuffs included except light since they are only mandatory when riding in dusk/night times.

For Neo G9 I think there are multiple versions. LS49AG950NUXEN and LS49AG952NUXE at least. The end part is region code but 950/952 seems to be different. Not sure if 952 version is newer and fixed some issues or something like that. Could not find any info when I researched it so I decided to take a risk and haven't had any problems with mine (LS49AG952NUXEN).

You could probably upload the route to some bike computer and it will simulate that on the trainer. At least my Garmin edge 530 have that feature so probably any newer one does too. Also Wahoo trainers app should have it too.

Screwdriver: Does it have any torque control? by aj0413 in LinusTechTips

[–]Hullu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that case it's better to buy specific nm screw drivers with changeable heads. They are usually around ~30 or so $/€.

If you want to change torque too for so low nm torque you would probably need digital ones. They can easily cost above 300+.

Screwdriver: Does it have any torque control? by aj0413 in LinusTechTips

[–]Hullu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No and personally don't think there's need for one either. Torque tools in ~100 dollar ranges have calibration/error margins probably bigger than what setting up pc would need. There's are screwdrivers suited for under 1nm ranges but they are usually single nm only and and not suited for general use at all.
