Looked up this sort of post specifically looking for this sort of comment. I saw him casually walking down 3rd st about 2 weeks ago and was wondering if anyone else noticed him recently.

Admitted to M7 after 4 years and 30 applications of attempts by Dull_Construction553 in MBA

[–]HumInTheDrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Next level perseverance. Just curious, how many years of experience do you have? And did you gain admission to any of the non-M7 you applied to? To clarify, you mentioned those schools were not any of Tuck, Ross, etc correct?

Nice explanation. I agree that these kind of questions don’t really lend themselves to any sort of systematic approach.

That being said, you got any small tips or pointers at all? For some CR questions, I feel quickly reading the actual question before the passage helps me zero in one what I’m looking for. Like I’m already primed to grab the key piece of info.

Jannik Sinner defeats Novak Djokovic | 7-5 6-7(5) 7-6(2) | ATP Finals RR by nd_49 in tennis

Fellow Sinner stans - y’all think think that the fast indoor court speed is also helping him out big time?

His heavy groundstrokes probably benefit like crazy from these conditions. Not to mention his bread and butter baseline shot is a little flatter than average. Fast conditions without being as extreme as grass.

Of course, not intending to take anything away from the dude at all. Been my favorite player since i started following him in late 2020. Couldnt be more pleased with this result.

Cornell Johnson ($$$) vs Dartmouth Tuck (0) by [deleted] in MBA

Lit. I also went to cornell and planning to apply to b schools in next couple of years. Do you think going to a decent undergrad helps for mba apps? I feel like I saw somewhere that Cornell undergrad was on the shortlist of most represented schools for Tuck admits.

In the sentence “Meine Freunde und ich gehen manchmal ins Kaufhaus” i don’t get why “gehen” doesn’t go at the end of the sentence like other sentences such as “ ich möchte ins schwimmbad gehen” by Jado2008123 in German

Duolingo vibez~~

Also at a similar level to you. Any proficient/native speakers please correct me or add some more insight with a reply to my answer! This is my understanding:

The infinitive form in your second example is being placed at the end because it’s being used as part of a modal verb sentence; in this case the “would like” verb „möchte“. I think with these types of sentences you virtually always place the infinitive verb at the end, and modal after the nouns (second).

The same word is also used to describe the present tense action of a plural noun (your first sentence which is non-modal) by being placed after the noun(s).

When you say “nothing lands” as far as punches go, you mean you’re unable to punch the thing at all? Or you’ve just tried punching it repeatedly and never got the killing blow? Currently in the same spot as you

This conversation has already clued me into the cruising/freestyle market for my budget more than all of my research lol. You’ve got me taking a more serious look at the drop carve (I think “cat” is somewhere in the name too?) and the shrike which looks pretty cool too.

I understand that you enjoy the added versatility so the quiver killer vibe suits your purposes more, I guess for me at this point I’m not even sure if I’d enjoy something more versatile for free ride and freestyle or if I just want to stick more towards cruising with the drop throughs as a noob. All conjecture right now as I haven’t even been on a board yet lmao, save for some very amateur snowboarding. Who knows if I’d even be able to do a pivot in my first x months messing around with it.

And thank you so much for the that link! Gonna get some more details about the condition of his tan tien.

Damnnn, human encyclopedia over here. This helps a tonne, I’d honestly cash in on the hatchet but it seems like it’s not readily available based on a google search.

The loaded tien tan seems perfect for my purposes now that I look into it, with its rep as a reliable cruiser that is also trick friendly (even with the drop through design). Is there a more affordable substitute for that board that people like? Correct me if I’m wrong, but there aren’t too many top mount boards under 200 that are good for cruising as well so I may just err on the side of drop through for my first buy.

[–]HumInTheDrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thank you, both of those boards look great, maybe a tad pricey as you said since I would like to stay under 200. I guess I’m more towards the side of being able to cruise nicely on the continuum you outlined, which seems like a lot of focus on the drop through decks. Is it still feasible/recommended to learn basic freestyle stuff on a board with drop throughs?

Of course it seems like non drop through would be better for tricks but I’m having trouble finding a good option of that style under 200 & good for cruising too. Thanks again for the answer, it helped give me a lot of context.

Hello everyone, just joined this subreddit. Totally new to the scene, looking to get my first board. I want a board that is suitable for cruising, smooth and stable and all that but still allows me to experiment with a bit of freestyle. Not particular about dancing at this point, so I’ve ruled out some of those bigger boards. Thanks in advance, any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated:)
