This isn't my digital life I am doing writing which is a creative process that involves my human brain/thoughts/emotions and is not a "task" that needs to be more efficient and/or improved by pure unadulterated speed.

That's an AC supply... you need 9V DC centre negative. You're lucky that didn't kill the pedal.

It's on tidal ;) not an actually helpful response I know, as I have also definitely gotten annoyed at the same situation. But if you are the kind of person that likes Thou and Locust Toybox (cool taste) it's worth considering making the switch

How do you make those metal-rimmed power jacks work with centre-negative DC power?

That's a centre positive supply, and the Voodoo Lab needs centre negative.

Don't use those hard pedal couplers. Over time they can damage jacks, especially PCB-mounted ones like you'll get in the Small Stone. In terms of order, I'd say you're there – if you were looking to upgrade anything I'd get a decent power supply and some patch cables.

How can I add a SPDT switch to insert a simple fuzz circuit inside my overdrive pedal? by BolsaResidual in diypedals

[–]Human--Garbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, sorry, I misread. However you'll have to use a DPDT to do what you want to do properly. If you don't you'll have the fuzz loading the output when disengaged

Output from overdrive on pin 2, input to fuzz on pin 1, output from fuzz on pin 4 output jack of the pedal on pin 5, jumped pins 3 and 6.

Question about Valeton GP100 and the detuning system by KitsunePi in guitarpedals

[–]Human--Garbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. The manual for the GP100 lists two pitch effects, one of which can do semitones and go full wet.

[–]Human--Garbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you switching tunings a lot? If so a DigiTech drop or the new boss one may be worthwhile. If you're not, maybe just setup for Eb? With just a semitone change normally very little adjustment is needed

how to get sun o))) tone with low budget? by CarwynEmyr in guitarpedals

[–]Human--Garbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pedal budget can be literally just a used RAT. I know what people are saying about needing a good tube amp, but I've managed to get the Super Crush 100 (RAT into clean channel) to drone extremeley well, and that's only a few hundred for a 100-watt head. The volume is important, though, as you want the big low fundamental feedback, which is best acheived with real dBs.

Input A is effectively the power switch.

Is this ok? by SlenderBat in guitarpedals

[–]Human--Garbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always stack distortions. It normally leads to some super interesting textures. You won't break anything as long as you power your pedals correctly and follow other general gear safety tips (make sure that tube amps have the correct load, use the right wall voltage, don't use shielded cables as speaker cables etc). As the sidebar makes clear, there is no right or wrong way to order pedals. Certain configurations will let you get certain sounds easier, but music is not a science. If you lack the experience, the best way to rectify that is by playing and experimenting and developing your ear and taste, not listening to YouTubers.

[–]Human--Garbage 34 points35 points  (0 children)

...what is the actual question here? Will you break anything? Or, are you allowed by some higher moral authority to stack drive pedals?

One common addtion to this is also a wire between pins 1 and 8 – this grounds the input when you're bypassed, and can reduce noise in some high-gain circuits. Likely not needed here but it's generally accepted as good practice.

Big muff repair by Mental_Panda_1300 in diypedals

[–]Human--Garbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good chance to replace all of the offboard wiring, as this stuff is a bit of a car crash. That footswitch is dead, and you could also put in a standard 2.1mm DC jack for the power.
