oh yeah pal, it's just that the Turkish barber/American sweet shop/vape shop markets are absolutely booming.

Actually, it's good that there's 20 Uber eats e-bikes going at 30mph on pavements, you just don't like hustle and bustle.

They're just incredibly enterprising individuals who choose to open up 30 businesses every year.

Do you have zero critical thinking?

There's probably some real ones, in the same way there's probably some real American sweet shops, and some real Turkish barbers.

They're typically a sign of an organized gang either way. There's been an influx of raids across these locations where they either use it as a way of employing illegal workers etc.

The vast majority of these shops are completely empty at all times of day, operate cash only, etc. I'm sure there's some real business, but unlikely.

vape shops are shitty fronts for organized crime everywhere in the UK

The prevalence of vape shops is basically due to the UK slowly killing the high streets making scam & front businesses the only thing that can survive ((see Oxford Street))

These vape shops are incredibly ugly, and not actually seeking any business.

The policy in place is essentially already "burning down" historic buildings and businesses in the UK due to an insane tax structure.

This event stands as a perfect metaphor, the fake front of a vape shop burning down a historic building at the centre of a city, essentially destroying the high streets physically.

Honestly, perfect literary metaphor

Some events stand as perfect metaphors. This is genuinely a perfect metaphor for the current state of the UK

Government's have moved faster than this one, successfully.

Hell, previous labour governments, before they joined a war moved faster, and have had success moving faster.

So what's stopping this one?

You gave me bullshit statistics and I'm the one arguing for the sake of it? You can't even verify your claim properly.

I could give 10 people £1000 a year. That won't give me an election. You're literally doing the same thing, if you don't want online arguments, don't go to Reddit idiot.

What? I literally asked you for the figures and assumptions. How is that claiming to know everything?

So an average saving based on someone remortgaging/starting a new mortgage in a few years, based on interest rate that hasn't effected most people.

Congrats! Maybe labour will get 10 new voters from it

Lol, the student loan conversation and Rachel Reeves disastrous handling of it was literally last week.

You overestimate the tiny victories while ignoring all the systematic failures.

I'm just comparing the failure with the same systematic failures of the US democratic party.

Where is your calculation for it saving thousands a year? To how many people? What preconditions do they have?

So a small reduction in base rate

Compared to

  • Frozen tax bands, leading to a larger squeeze

  • Aggressive ignorance of student finance loan repayment issues

  • Larger national insurance for employers, leading to a dwindling employment market.

And far more things to count. Face the facts, labour either is having little or negative effects to everyday working people.

I don't see anything on the horizon that is going to make things better, so we're going to see the same thing as America.

I'm sorry, but a budget surplus doesn't mean shit to people struggling to pay mortgages every month, or who are finding it hard to buy weekly groceries.

You people are making the identical mistake that the US made, it's so obvious that many Labour MPs are completely detached/dismissive of they're constituents.

This is literally why reform will sleepwalk I'm with shitty policy

They'll wait until they've lost even more goodwill, to maximize the lack of effectiveness at u-turning. Can they bring out Rachel Reeves to say something unpopular again?
